NAHNOO has been working since 2009 as a research, capacity-building and advocacy platform for participatory policymaking, towards an inclusive society in Lebanon. Role Description

The Grants Manager (GM) plays a key role in the planning, development and close follow-up on NAHNOO’s fundraising activities, specifically grant-making, in order to secure continuous funding for our programs, projects and organizational costs, in line with the NGO’s strategic plan, thus aiding our organization in serving the public.

GM is involved in developing sustainable and effective grants programs and researching funding opportunities.

In addition to, the GM follows up on all donors’ contractual and reporting requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • To participate in conducting extensive prospect research on donors/support agencies & evaluate their affinity to NAHNOO’s programs & projects
  • Track, identify and map potential grant opportunities (national, regional and international).
  • Manage & update the donors database & watch system (master calendar…), tracking any new calls for proposals and grant-making opportunities
  • Collaborate with relevant departments & Internal Consultants to obtain necessary information for accurate and comprehensive concept notes and grant proposals applications (Communications, Programs, Financial , Legal  etc)
  • Daft modular concept notes  for each of NAHNOO’s programs, following the NGO’s strategic plan (current and potential projects).
  • Develop and draft high-quality project proposals(narrative & budget) and prepare & track applications to identified calls for proposals according to their guidelines
  • Optimize the grant administration process to ensure grants contracts are implemented in compliance  with the donor’s regulations.
  • Take the lead on grants reporting ensuring high quality, well-written and timely reports showing impact and meeting donors’ requirements & deadlines.
  • Maintain close collaboration with all relevant departments in preparation of donors’ progress reports & corresponding deliverable  (prepared by the concerned staff in Programs , Communication and Finance  teams)

 

Qualifications & Requirements for the Position

Educational qualifications & professional experience

 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field (NGO Management, Economics & Business Management, Political Science, International Affairs, Sociology…)
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a Grants Administration and Management &/or Business Development position, including proposal writing responsibilities.
  • Previous professional experience in a non-profit organization or social enterprise is mandatory (minimum 4 years)
  • Strong track record of past performance in writing, budgeting and monitoring
  • Advantage: good knowledge of the NGO sector, existing donors and grant-makers networks (national, regional and international), especially relevant to issues related to NAHNOO’s scope of work.

  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularity Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written) - Excellent written and verbal level in both languages required
  • Superior analytical skills & capacity to demonstrate logical & strategic thinking
  • Strong writing& synthesis  skills
  • Excellent organizational skills , methodical thinking &  detail-oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines (punctuality)
