Lobbying Day For Pwds Right To Employment

In 2000, the law of rights of people with disabilities 220/ 2000 was issued in the Official newspaper. This law came after many struggles and  efforts devoted by the people with disabilities, and it was a dream of ours and  theirs. Everyone believed that once this law is ratified our problems then would be solved, but this law needed implementation practices in order for it to be taken into action. And once more we phased yet another struggle, in order to reach the application of the law, which does not meet the minimum rights of people with disabilities.
 
After fifteen years of the issuance of  law 220/2000 it is still a dead letter, and the ruling class in our country resumes to put it of its agenda  ..
Fifteen years later disabled people remain to die on the doors of hospitals ..
After fifteen years in violation of dignity and right to education, even their entry into an occupational institute needs a "mercy request" ...
Fifteen years later  barriers that prevent them from movement and access to information still exist  ..
Fifteen years later unemployment is still their status ..
For these  reasons , and for  many of us past who were dreamers, as we dream today, to have access to our full rights and because we believe in a  homeland enriched with justice and equality for all, we must lobby for our rights  on Thursday April 30 at 11 am in front of the Castle of Ministries to raise our voices high and claim our rights ..
 
 
Our demands are clear: "We want our rights activated and respected by all ", and call for those concerned to ratify the "International Convention on the rights of people with disabilities", hoping that our country would be just  for all its citizens.
