3. Job Description and Services to be Provided:

The Communication Officer reports to LOGI’s project officer and executive director and is responsible for the proper implementation of LOGI’s projects.

 Essential Responsibilities/ Job Description:

Program Communications, Advocacy and Awareness:

  • Support the LOGI team in the brainstorming and development of LOGI’s communication strategies (annual and project basis)
  • The communications officer will work on developing relevant communication materials (advocacy posts, regular informative posts, success stories, media coverage for LOGI’s events) for LOGI’s programs.
  • Disseminate LOGI’s content to relevant stakeholders through relevant media channels.
  • Support in the management and maintenance of LOGI’s website and social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) by generating content and ensuring a consistent and compelling tone of voice on all platforms
  • Deliver donor social media reports with a clear assessment of the level of success of each campaign.
  • Lead on the community management with the support of LOGI’s Program Manager and Executive Director

PR and Campaigning:

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists, media outlets (print, TV, radio, web etc.) and key stakeholders (political parties, emerging political parties, activists, influencers etc..) to increase visibility and coverage of LOGI’s activities in the media (print, broadcast and digital) and maintain a media database that will be deployed to organize press conferences and other events.
  • Maximize the opportunity of having LOGI featured in the news.
  • Organize TV/Radio/Magazine interviews.
  • Maintain records of LOGI in the news on LOGI’s website
  • Develop press releases and articles that might be subject of interest for LOGI’s audience and that supports LOGI’s advocacy Campaigns.
  • Develop mass mailing invitations to support LOGI’s campaigns and events (workshops, seminars, webinars, roundtable discussions)

Internal Relationships:

  • Coordinate with LOGI’s project officer to ensure that the strategy is being followed.
  • Refer to LOGI’s project officer for any budget related issues and ensure that the project is being implemented in the right way and on time
  • Coordinate with LOGI’s design company on relevant projects that we are working on together and ensure an on time delivery.
  • Coordinate with director and videographer on setting up the development and shooting of LOGI’s online campaigns
  • Coordinate with relevant speakers who will be participating in LOGI’s campaigns.

 

 

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in media, communications, journalism, public relations or at least a two to three years experience in the field
  • Excellent written and oral English, Arabic and French communication skills are required.
  • He/she should have advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Canva and Teams);
  • Proven strong knowledge of existing social media platforms.
  • Candidates with basic design and layout skills and adept in using Adobe Photoshop etc. are an added advantage.
  • Ability to complete tasks on time;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently, coordinate, and plan with relevant team members;
  • Ability to give and receive feedback constructively;
