The music instructor involves working with people who want to learn signing and music basics.

 

Background:

The music instructor consultant will be responsible for planning and executing training sessions focused on music.

 

Purpose:

This scope of work aims to engage the services of a consultant to strategize, travel to, and implement music sessions. These sessions will equip participants with techniques to remove blockages, traumas, stagnant emotions, and energies.

 

Task Description:

The Consultant will hold the position of music instructor serving various areas across Lebanon. The music session aims to provide the following to participants:

 

  • Educate beneficiaries about the fundamental concepts of music theory such as rhythm, melody, pitch, and tempo.
  • Instruct beneficiaries about the fundamentals of note reading, covering essential aspects of musical notation, and interpretation of sheet music.
  • Conduct exercises like vocalization, harmonizing, singing, and playing musical instruments.

The sessions aim to provide the following benefits to participants:

  • Improve self-confidence.
  • Facilitate self-healing through singing and music.
  • Aid in the healing and reconciliation of trauma.
  • Enhance interpersonal connections and communication.
  • Promote meditation and inner peace.
  • Foster increased expressiveness in everyday life.

 

Deliverables

Develop a dynamic curriculum spanning three sessions, the duration of each session is 1.5 to 2 hours long, focusing on singing and music. This curriculum should encompass essential subjects such as singing basics, note reading, playing on musical instruments.

 

Conduct successive cycles of three sessions each, engaging diverse groups of beneficiaries in. These cycles will be concurrently held across different locations. The consultant will be responsible for ensuring the availability of the necessary musical instruments for the sessions.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in music education, Music Performance, or any related field.
  • Proficiency in one or more instruments and a solid understanding of music theory.
  • Previous teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

 

In addition to the music sessions, the Recreational Activities Trainer is expected to write a comprehensive report after the completion of each training cycle. The report template will be provided by the program team. This report should encompass a detailed overview of the training conducted, participants' engagement, key outcomes, and any recommendations for improvement.

 

Furthermore, the Recreational Activities Trainer should receive training in handling GBV disclosure and safe referral before commencing their work.

Transportation fees from consultant address to sessions conducted in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, Bekaa, North and South using consultant’s personal car are calculated based on the number of kilometers traveled per round trip as per IMC transportation policy matrix. Transportation fees is not provided for sessions delivered in Beirut, Mount Lebanon Areas.

The fees will be paid based on the submission of a task sheet and invoice.

 

Location of Work: Consultant resides in Beirut, will conduct her /his work in Beirut, and field areas and will be responsible for his/her own transportation. International Medical Corps will compensate for transportation fees based on the transportation policy matrix for sessions delivered in Bekaa,North and South
