Legal Advisor - Reissued

Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR) is an independent not-for profit organisation that works with media and civil society to promote positive change in conflict zones, closed societies, and countries in transition around the world. 
IWPR is looking to hire a Legal Advisor to provide legal counceling for IWPR Beirut Office.  

Legal Advisor services will include but not be limited to the following:

• Providing legal advice on agreements and documents.
• Consulting IWPR on contractual agreements for consultants/employees in accordance with the Lebanese Law.
• Drafting contractual documents and advise on their validity/enforceability
• Following up on all legal issues with the relevant authorities
• Representing IWPR in litigation brought by or against it.
• Any additional legal advice requested on a need basis.

Qualifications of the successful candidate:

• Registered in the Lebanese Bar Association, preferably in the Beirut Bar Association;
• At least 15 years of experience working in Lebanon;
• Proven previous experience providing legal services to NGOs in Lebanon;
• Proven previous experience in providing contractual legal advises;
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English;
• Ability to deliver targets to set deadlines.
