Description:
The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the acquisition of goods and services for the organization. This role involves ensuring that procurement processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives. The Procurement Officer will work closely with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of goods and services.
- Manage the entire procurement process from requisition to delivery, including creating and issuing purchase orders.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure high-quality service and supply chain reliability.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts to achieve favorable pricing and service levels.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Conduct regular cost analyses to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement and maintain procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
- Prepare and present procurement reports, including spend analysis, supplier performance, and cost savings.
- Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to make informed procurement decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related role.
- Proven track record of successful procurement and supplier management.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and commitment to ethical procurement practices.
