Learning Module Creator – Intro to SOGIESC

Desired Outcome: Participants who take the workshop will be able to understand the basic tenets of sexuality including sex, gender, sexual characteristics, gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation. They will also be able to understand the difference between each and how they manifest within local and global contexts, including social, cultural, and legal contexts. The workshop helps individuals differentiate these components in a manner that is beneficial for their personal and professional lives. It also allows and facilitates engagement and understanding with queer people and queer issues This workshop is offered for LGBTQ individuals and allies but is also designed as an engagement tool with individuals with harmful, erroneous, and/or ignorant assumptions about people with diverse SOGIESCs.

 

Key Concepts: Sexuality; body diversity and autonomy; identity and belonging; attraction and relationships; cultural, societal, and legal understandings of gender; terminologies and engagement; discrimination, stigma, and fear.

 

Deliverables:

  • Create and curate workshop content suitable for full day, 8-hour training to be done in person and/or online.
  • Create a comprehensive and clear set of slides, graphs, and audio-visual material to accompany the workshop.
  • Provide meticulous presentation notes and/or toolkit for trainers and facilitators including references for materials as well as tips and guidance on how to answer questions.
  • Provide a complete and comprehensive addendum materials and further reading for each of the workshop’s concepts to be provided in print and digital format.
  • Provide a comprehensive agenda reflecting the content and optimal division of information of the workshop.
  • Provide monitoring and evaluation tools for the efficiency of each workshop including and pre and post-tests as well as other tools when and if necessary.
  • Provide a clear and comprehensive course description / summary of each workshop to be utilized in promotional material.
  • Accompany a graphic designer in the creation of all audio-visual material for the workshop including the power point presentation, addendums, and other materials.

Ensure all afore-mentioned workshop content is correctly translated into Arabic through meticulous review of all translations.
