About Helem:
Helem, is the first LGBTQIA+ rights organization in the Arab world, officially established in Beirut, Lebanon in 2001. Its mission is to lead the struggle for the liberation of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Intersex, Transgendered, Queer (LGBTQIA+) and other people with non-conforming sexualities and/or gender identities in Lebanon and the SWANA region from all sorts of violations of their individual and collective civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights. Our goal is to empower young LGBTQIA+ leaders to advocate for their own liberation. We seek to create initiatives and spaces where our communities can leverage unity through diversity and build power. We protect and support individuals with the resources to resist the harm caused by homophobia and transphobia. We empower our youth through education and community building, and we mobilize to change the laws, policies, and practices that deny us equality and reduce our quality of life.

 

Position Overview:

Helem is seeking a skilled IT Consultant for a one-month consultancy toperform a comprehensive evaluation and enhancement of our digital infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance of our digital tools, securing our data, and improving our team's efficiency. The consultant will assess our current drive setups, antivirus protection, conduct a general IT assessment, oversee the implementation of Microsoft Office suite, and fortify our digital security measures. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the meaningful work of our organization by optimizing our IT capabilities.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a thorough assessment of our existing drive configurations and data storage solutions to ensure efficiency and data integrity.
  • Evaluate and recommend antivirus and malware protection strategies to safeguard our digital assets.
  • Perform a general IT assessment to identify areas for improvement, including hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of Microsoft Office suite across the organization, ensuring seamless integration and user proficiency.
  • Develop and enforce robust digital security protocols, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies to protect sensitive information.
  • Provide training and support to staff on new tools and security practices, fostering a culture of digital literacy and safety.
  • Deliver a comprehensive report at the end of the consultancy, outlining findings, implemented changes, and suggestions for future IT strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an IT Consultant.
  • Expertise in digital security, data protection, and software implementation, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with cloud storage solutions, antivirus software, and general IT infrastructure.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve IT inefficiencies.
  • Strong communication and training abilities, with proficiency in conveying technical information to non-technical staff.
  • Relevant certifications in IT, digital security, or related fields are highly desirable.
