The social worker identifies and assesses the needs of the families, individuals, groups and communities in order to provide the social counseling, psychosocial support, advocacy, assistance in crisis and other ways of support. The social worker performs field visits, participates in community based events, plans activities, deploys to emergency response in case of risk.
Job duties:
Identify and conduct social assessment for families, individual and communities’ needs.
Conduct household visits to families on a regular basis in their local area.
Conduct interviews with individuals and families to assess and review their situation.
Support individuals and their families through difficult times and ensure that vulnerable people, including children, women, people with disabilities, elderly and adults, are safeguarded from harm.
Fill in the information collected and the beneficiaries’ data.
Coordinate with the Psychosocial Support and field coordinator regarding the support that can be given (food parcels, humanitarian aids, donations…).
Conduct calls after the end of each project for monitoring.
Search for NGOs and coordinate with them.
Refer specific cases to internal or external relevant service.
Provide information about the services given by the organization and promoting them.
Propose and support community based events, in coordination with the team.
Implement solutions for problems.
Participate in training and team meetings.
Perform others duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Social & Medical Work or any other relevant diplomas.
Proficiency in English and Arabic (writing, speaking, reading). French is a plus. Microsoft office skills. SPSS
Experience:
From 0 to 3 years.
