1. Project Background

The Lebanon Community Support Program (CSP) is a multi-year project funded by USAID to support municipalities and underserved and vulnerable communities in providing better services and enhanced economic opportunities to improve lives and reduce tensions that contribute to conflict and violence, primarily in Lebanon’s North, South, and Beqaa regions.

2.  Summary of Position

The Editor will be responsible for reviewing and editing CSP Quarterly Reports, Annual Reports, Annual Work Plans, and Final Reports of CSP’s 3 ongoing Task Orders (projects): Task Order 2 (Community Support), Task Order 3 (Technical Assistance and Capacity Building), and Task Order 5 (Wastewater Management), in English language. The Editor will also turn draft reports submitted by Task Order Directors into visually appealing reports through turning raw data/tables into visuals, in collaboration with CSP graphic design interns. The Editor will collaborate regularly with CSP's Chief of Party to plan the report submission and review timelines and deadlines to CSP Task Order Directors.

3.  Specific Duties and Responsibilities​​​​​​

The Editor will be responsible for the following:

  A-Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Periodically meet with the Chief of Party to Plan Draft Reports Submission Timelines and Deadlines and to discuss editorial policy and best practices.
  •  Meet with Task Order Directors to receive and provide feedback on the reports content.
  •  Visit the field to come up with success stories and transforming lives stories. 

B-Reviewing and Editing Reports:

  •  Review and edit CSPs Quarterly Reports before submittal to the client.
  •  Review and edit CSPs Annual Reports before submission to the client.
  •  Review and edit CSPs Final Reports before submission to the client.
  •  Review and Edit CSPs Annual Work Plans before submission to the client.
  • Review other CSP documents such as: Press Releases, Social Media Posts, Power Point Presentations and others.

C-Content Enhancement:​​​​​​​

  • Transform draft reports submitted by Task Order Directors into professional, visually appealing documents.
  • Convert raw data and tables into engaging visuals in collaboration with CSP graphic design interns.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

4.  Minimum Qualifications​​​​​​​

  • Bachelor’s degree required in one of the areas related to: editing, communications, journalism or related fields.
  • Seven years of relevant work experience.
  • At least five years of editing experience in donor organizations and/or journalistic organizations.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Canva) is a plus.

  • Collaborative spirit able to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels.
  • Good time management skills and willingness to travel to the field.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail; ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently as well as cooperatively with team members.
  • Experience working across Lebanon.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English required.

6. Eligibility Criteria:

Interested individual experts shall have the capacity to enter into a short-term technical assistance (STTA) contract and shall have a satisfactory performance record and record of integrity and business ethics.

7.  Ineligible Experts:

  • Government employees.
  • Individual experts that appear on the List of Parties Excluded from Federal Procurement and Non-Procurement Programs.

8.  Place of Assignment :

The expert will be liaising with CSP team at the project offices in Sin-El-Fil and will be occasionally traveling to project field locations.

9. Reporting:

The expert will be reporting to CSP Chief of Party.
