The Center for Development Democracy and Governance (CDDG) is a non-governmental non-profit organization established in February 2010 and registered under No. 258. It incorporates a group of activists including qualified persons, engineers, agricultural experts, economists, etc. all with one vision that is providing services for the underdeveloped weak in need societies.

Its vision is to have prosperous Rural Communities in Lebanon with preserved and protected natural resources where decent living is reality for all with a mission to empower local communities in Lebanon to achieve sustainable socio-economic development, improving locals’ access to social services, and enhancing governance practices of local partners with a focus on Rural Development, the Environment, Healthcare, Education and Culture.

CDDG’s main objectives are Disseminating the concepts of sustainable development so as to build a socially, economically, and politically developed society. Working towards achieving total governance throughout the Lebanese society by reinforcing participatory, consensus oriented decision making, accountability, transparency, responsiveness, effectiveness and efficiency, equitability and inclusivity, and the abidance to laws. Fighting corruption and defending the rights of the minorities and the most vulnerable.

The “Zahle in Colours” project aims at decreasing the tension in the area between Lebanese and Syrian and promoting partnership between them. Starting by the fact that this project was created and proposed by Youth from these two nationalities, it will also aim at creating spaces for their families, friends and communities to meet and interact. Youth and Children will together on an arts project by painting murals over large bare cement wall in the area.

Aligned with the Municipality of Zahle’s Vision, “Wayn-Bike” project is an environmental friendly community initiative that promotes health awareness and stimulates social cohesion and interaction. In addition, the project will promote sports and social interaction in the area integrating residents from all backgrounds. That happens by installing a portable bicycle station for public use with about 51 bikes in Zahle Park so all the city residents may benefit from it and interacts with each other’s.
