Community Stakeholder – REAF Program

Context & Background

 

 

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.

 

The Rural Entrepreneurs in Agri-Food (REAF) program aims at strengthening the business and product viability of innovative startups tackling sustainable rural economic development operating in South Mount Lebanon, Central and West Bekaa, and now with our extension to target Youth and Start-ups in Norther Bekaa (Riyaq to South of Baalbeck) and Hasbaya (including Chebaa and the foot hold of Mount Hermon). The program will provide the startups with the tools to transform their ideas into sustainable and profitable businesses. REAF’s youth training will enhance their entrepreneurship mentality and entry into the job market.

 

We are seeking 2 experienced community stakeholders (1 for each area) to support the overall implementation of REAF program batch 4. The supporting function of the selected organization will be over the following scope.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scope of work

 

The organization(s) will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive series of support services over 12 months.

 

Outreach & Promotion

 

  • Assist in planning and executing an outreach strategy to identify potential entrepreneurs.
  • Support Berytech’s communication and outreach endeavors.

 

Program Implementation Support

 

  • Provide the venue with its overheads to conduct workshops and Ideathons.
  • The REAF program will be directly covering all expenses from logistics, experts, catering, and transportation.
  • Provide start-ups with a shared space to work on their ideas and for online workshops and clinics when and where needed.

 

 

Stakeholder’s Engagement

 

  • Facilitate engagement with local stakeholders for private sector engagement and for fostering synergies.
  • Support the engagement through a series of alignment meet-ups according to the field assessment report.

 

Logistics & Administrative Support

 

  • Coordinate venue arrangements for training sessions, workshops, and events.
  • Assist in the procurement of necessary materials and resources for program activities.
  • Provide logistical support for field visits, industry exposure trips, and networking events.

  • Provide support for Berytech's communication and outreach endeavors as required.
  • Arrange and provide suitable venues for workshops and Ideathon.
  • Offer a shared space for start-ups to work on their ideas and for online workshops and clinics, as needed.
  • Assist Berytech in engaging with various stakeholders for private sector engagement and fostering synergies.
  • Provide logistical support for field visits, industry exposure trips, and networking events organized by Berytech.
  • Procurement records for materials and resources utilized during the program.

     

Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in outreach activities, preferably in rural development or entrepreneurship contexts.
  • Familiarity with the agri-food, waste management & valorization, renewable energy, and circular economy sectors.
  • Previous experience in supporting the planning and execution of weekend hackathons.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including youth groups, local businesses.
  • Familiarity with the cultural, social, and economic context of the targeted areas.
