Context & Background

 

About Berytech:

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.

 

About TESSA:

Promoting a favorable context for the development of green enterprises capable of generating full and decent employment, particularly among young people, by supporting the creation, formalization and growth of sustainable Lebanese start-ups and SMEs. The specific objective of the initiative is to promote the development of a socio-economic-cultural context that responds to the challenge of fostering energy transition and sustainable economic growth by acting directly on the key actors of change with a multi-level approach.

SCOPE OF WORK AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

Green Transformation Academy

The service provider will work closely with the beneficiaries (20 corporate institutions) divided into 4 main sectors: health, manufacturing, hospitality, and food processing. The aim of this academy is to develop green business transformation plans, in addition to business pitch decks for each institution. This will lead in supporting 20 corporate institutions to achieve their sustainability goals and contribute to a better environment.

This academy will consist of 40 sessions and will be structured into group trainings (as general trainings for the 20 companies), sector-specific group clinics (technical trainings targeted for each sector identified), and individual one-on-one clinics to ensure that the program is focused on personalizing the support based on the needs of each company. This schedule will be implemented over 3 months, tailored according to the specific needs identified during the needs assessment phase for each participating company.
Below are the tentative topics that will be validated with Berytech after conducting the needs assessment.

  • Sustainable Business development, green transition and environment priorities
  • Embrace Toolkit - Part 1: Problem Discovery
  • Embrace Toolkit – Part 2: Solution Exploration
    • The Embrace toolkit/Ecocanvas is a methodological framework designed to support the development of prototype business models aligned with Circular Economy principles.
  • Strategy for Sustainable Business development
  • Resources identification for project development
  • Financial assessment for opportunities  

 

Format
The selected expert will provide the following:

  • Total of 2 group coaching sessions – 8 hours in total
  • Total of 8 sector-specific group clinics– 64 hours in total
  • Total of 40 clinics (2 one on one clinics per company)

The expert or consulting agency will be in charge to assess technical needs of the companies, hire technical mentors and oversee the support process, to meet the companies’ needs.

Budget:
The Total Budget should not exceed 20,000 Euro

 

Timeline
The activity is expected to start on June 1, 2024 till August 31, 2024

 

Coordination and complimentary support from Berytech:

The service provider is asked to share with Berytech a clear concise curriculum and timeline. The service provider may be suggested to complement the sessions with supporting activities suggested by Berytech.

 

The proposal needs to include:

  • Methodology of the academy
  • Concise Curriculum and agenda for the program
  • Timeline
  • Roadmap of the sessions (coaching sessions and clinics)
  • Financial proposal
  • Assessment Report on each company roadmap and next steps

 Expert Qualifications

  • Applications to this proposal can be from independent trainers/consultants, Corporate or Agency
  • The service provider should have at least 5 years of experience in supporting companies/projects and developing green transformation plans
  • Effective communicator with any audience in an organized and professional manner
  • Use of tools and methods to finalize the consultancy mission with the support of the beneficiary
  • Have previous experience in offering training and coaching sessions.
  • The service provider should have experience in Financial Services
