Background:

The Arab Resource Collective (ARC) is a non-governmental regional organization. ARC's  mission  is  to  work  with  partners  on  producing  and  disseminating  knowledge, promoting policies and developing human resources in order to translate rights into reality. ARC targets children and youth within their environment, and focuses on health, education and protection.

During emergencies, frontliners rush to help and support the vulnerable through various interventions on field level. However, these same frontliners need to support themselves on a holistic level, with special focus on MHPSS.

ARC/ANECD will use its MHPSS (under updating) website, a website developed by ARC to provide and share MHPSS resources, news, content, and support with professionals in the Arab world.

The MHPSS website was developed to target professionals, experts, frontliners, and caregivers with MHPSS resources.

This website will be updated and new sections will be added to incorporate an online course, multiple Support Groups, and new, valid, updated, and contextualized MHPSS Resources.

 

A- Tasks and Responsibilities:

Administrative and financial work:

  • Revise the documentation of the program.
  • Prepare all the needed forms for implementation, ex: attendance sheets, centers reporting forms, trainers reporting forms.
  • Organize the logistics of the activities.
  • Ensure a proper financial reporting to all expenditures.
  • Ensure appropriate filing and documentation of the project’s activities, documents and outputs.
  • Handle the budget for MHPSS project under the supervision of ARC’s Programmes’ Coordinator.

 

Meetings and coordination:

  • Coordinate closely with the MHPSS content expert’s concerning the development of the 10 sessions provided for the  frontliners in the mental health field.
  • Coordinate closely with the MHPSS Officer on matters related to Resources and Support Groups.
  • Work closely with ARC Programmes Manager and Coordinator.
  • Work closely with the Communication Team when required.
  • Follow up with the research team.
  • Attend the donors’ meetings as required.
  • Attend and document the working teams meetings and ensure the follow up on the taken decisions.
  • Follow up with the project’s experts and staff on reporting, timeline and activities plan.

Implementation tasks:

  • Lead  the planning  and development of the MHPSS Website
  • Lead the implementation of the MHPSS project activities.
  • Develop a workplan with a clear timeframe and ensure its implementation.
  • Coordinate the activities’ implementation.
  • Ensure a quality implementation of activities.
  • Give feedback on developed MHPSS sessions.
  • Receive and revise MHPSS sessions development with the experts.
  • Report and document the activities’ challenges, lessons learned, and achievements.
  • Participate in the final report writing.

B- MHPSS Project Officer Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Psychology, Social work or any other relevant field
  • Very high coordination Skills
  • Very good Knowledge in the Mental Health and Psycho-Social support field
  • Very good writing skills in Arabic
  • Very Good written and verbal English skills
  • High reporting skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Previously worked with donors
  • Able to advise on the developed content related to frontliners mental health
  • Knowledge and experience in PSS and Psychological approach is a plus
  • Experience in training on MH topics is a plus
