AMURT Lebanon Background
AMURT’s mission is to help improve the quality of life for the poor and disadvantaged people of the world, and those affected by calamity and conflict. It aims to assist individuals and communities to secure life’s necessities and to gain greater social and economic fulfillment, while honoring individuals’ customs, language, and religious beliefs.
AMURT Lebanon registered in 2012 as an independent charitable organization and is affiliated with the AMURT Global Network, headquartered in Washington, USA.
Since 2012, AMURT has been addressing the Syrian crisis and its effects, as well as hardships the Lebanese community is experiencing. Its programs have ranged from disaster relief and emergency response, to psychosocial support, diverse education programs, child protection, social stability, and is currently focusing on the livelihoods sector as well.

Job purpose
Fundraiser / Project Coordinator works towards financial resilience and long-term sustainability for AMURT’s humanitarian programs by developing fundraising strategies, researching funding opportunities, preparing project proposals and maintaining professional communication with donors.
Additionally, 20% Project Coordination of a capable team at AMURT’s Sunrise Center, which offers education & psychosocial support in Sin El Fil, Beirut.

 

Main tasks & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•    Research and identify potential donors and new projects opportunities
•    Develop and write high quality, concept notes, project proposals and applications in accordance with donors’ requirements.
•    Prepare log-frames, budgets and other technical documents that meet best-practise standards and are easy to follow, consulting team members to develop theory of change and the logical framework.
•    Compile and maintain a database of local and international donor organizations; build and maintain professional relationships.
•    Maintain cordial and professional donor communication; respond in a timely manner to requests, submit reports on time and keep up-to-date records of all communication and shared documents.
•    Help cultivate productive collaborations with private, public and non-profit entities.
•    Develop fundraising programs and implementation strategies, in keeping with best practices
•    Prepare fundraising communications material.
•    Part-time coordination of the Sunrise Center education and psychosocial support team members; collaboratively determining weekly priorities and providing support if needed.
•    Liaise with Program Coordinator and other key team members, undertaking other necessary duties if requested.

Qualifications
Education
•    Master's degree in Communications, Marketing or Social Sciences.
•    Any other related degree
Experience
•    More than five 5 years of relevant experience in fundraising and grants acquisition with humanitarian NGOs and INGOs.  
•    Solid knowledge of writing proposals and reports.
•    Familiar with key humanitarian donors and stakeholders
•    Experience in partner relationship management
Skills
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English
•    Solid logical, analytical and numerical skills
•    Advanced user of office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint
•    Skilled in diplomacy and negotiation
•    Excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks
•    Detail-oriented
•    Efficient delegation and follow-up of tasks

Working conditions
Fundraiser / Project Coordinator is required to work administrative and financial tasks either independently or within team. She/he will spend considerable time on computer work. She/he will have to manage multiple requests and situations at one time and as Coordinator may have to act to resolve disputes and grievances.
She/ he will be in close coordination with Program Manager, M&E, Finance, and HR.
May need to complete tasks within tight deadlines or in stressful circumstances.
At least one day per week will be based at Sunrise center, Beirut. Other duties can be performed in Kfarnabrakh office, Chouf and /or any AMURT campus. Regular travel outside the office will be required.
