Call for Expression of Interest - Empowered Communities In Action

Lebanon is struggling to cope with multiple crisis affecting the deteriorating humanitarian situation. The country is facing unstable political challenges, an economic and financial crisis, all of which have resulted in significant human and financial losses. Refugees in the Palestinian camps are particularly vulnerable due to overcrowded living conditions, poor access to basic services, and poor hygiene practices. Additionally, Palestinian’s limited access to income prevents them from covering the additional expenses related to preventive material, putting them at a higher risk of contracting diseases. Positive personal and environmental hygiene behaviors are crucial for preventing infectious diseases and reducing the financial burdens of poor health on households. For this reason, Anera is launching “Empowered Communities in Action”  which to aims to mobilize communities to improve practices related to the use of safe drinking water, personal hygiene, and menstrual health, in addition to improving the  sanitation and environmental resources in the community.

Project Objectives 

Improve practices on safe hygienic and preventive measures related to personal hygiene, environmental hygiene, and menstrual hygiene.

Provide capacity-building and livelihood support to youth and women to alleviate economic hardships.

Lead and guide youth and women, in youth and women-led initiatives under WASH themes which serve the community and contribute to livelihood opportunities for youth and women.

Project’s Health Promotion Topics:

Personal Hygiene: Personal hygiene awareness in communities and schools with a focus on water hygiene and conservation;

Environmental Health: Environmental hygiene awareness in communities and schools, with a focus on anti-littering, reduce and reuse practices; 

Menstrual Hygiene: Menstrual hygiene awareness in communities and schools, with a focus on improving knowledge on menstrual hygiene, and correcting widespread misconceptions on the topic. 

Target Beneficiaries: 

Community members including women, men, youth, elderly, and people with disabilities.

Students at UNRWA schools / adolescent girls and boys /children outreached in the community.

يكافح لبنان للتعامل مع أزمات متعددة تؤثّر على الوضع الإنساني المتدهور. تواجه البلاد تحدّيات سياسية غير مستقّرة وأزمة اقتصادية ومالية ، كل ذلك أدّى إلى خسائر بشرية ومالية كبيرة. اللاجئون في المخيمات الفلسطينية معرضون بشكل خاص الى الأمراض المنقولة  بسبب الظروف المعيشية الضاغطة، وضعف الوصول إلى الخدمات الأساسية ، وسوء النظّافة والممارسات. بالإضافة إلى ذلك ، فإن الدخل المحدود للفلسطينين  يمنعهم من تغطية النفقات الإضافية المتعلقة بالمواد الوقائية  ، مما يعرضهم لخطر أكبر للإصابة بالأمراض. تعتبر سلوكيات النظافة الشخصيّة والبيئيّة الصحيحة ، جنبًا إلى جنب مع الامتثال لممارسات احترازية إضافية لـلوقاية من الأمراض المعدية ، ولتقليل الأعباء المالية على الأفراد ذوي الدّخل المحدود  وعلى صحة الأسرة، لهذا السبب ، تطلق أنيرا  "مشروع المجتمعات المحلّية المؤهلة للعمل" والذي يهدف إلى تمكين المجتمعات المحلّية لتحسين الممارسات المتعلقة بتحسين استخدام مياه الشرب المؤمنة والصرف الصحّي والموارد البيئية و النظافة الشخصية و النظافة الدورة الشهرية

أهداف المشروع

تحسين الممارسات بشأن التدابير الصحّية والوقائية الآمنة المتعلقة بالنظّافة البيئيّة والنّظافة خلال الدورة الشهرية و النظافة الشخصية. 

 توفير بناء القدرات ودعم سبل العيش للشباب والنساء للتخفيف من المصاعب الإقتصادية 

قيادة وتوجيه الشباب والنساء في المبادرات التي يقودها الشباب والنساء في إطار مواضيع المياه والصرف الصحي والنظافة الصحية التي تخدم المجتمع وتساهم في فرص كسب العيش للشباب والنساء.

الرسائل الأساسية الصحية التوعوية:

 النظافة الشخصية: الوعي بالنظافة الشخصية في المجتمعات والمدارس مع التركيز على نظافة المياه والتوعية بالأمراض المنقولة بالمياه. 

الصحّة البيئيّة: التوعية  على النّظافة البيئيّة في المجتمعات والمدارس ، مع التركيز على ممارسات منع رمي القمامة وتقليلها وإعادة استخدامها 

النظافة اثناء الدورة الشهرية: التوعيه حول  الننظافة  أثناء الدورة الشهرية في المجتمعات والمدارس ، مع التركيز على تحسين المعرفة بنظافة الدورة الشهرية، وتصحيح المفاهيم الخاطئة المنتشرة حول هذا الموضوع.

الفئة المستهدفة: 

- أفراد المجتمع من نساء ورجال وشباب وكبار السن وذوي الإعاقة.

- طلاب مدارس الأونروا /الطالبات اليافعات / أطفال المجتمع المحلّي.
