Field Officer

Areas of Responsibility:

General objective of the job

The Field officer will act as the first representative of the organization amongst the beneficiaries, their families and the local community. He/she will closely work with local communities to ensure that the project activities have widespread acceptance. He/she will lead all field activities (Home/shelter visits, community dialogues, awareness sessions and campaigns), data monitoring, and analysis. This role requires strong skills in data analysis, screening, and project data management. He/she will work closely with field teams, PHCC teams, stakeholders, and data management personnel to ensure accurate and effective project implementation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Acts as the first representative of the project among the communities, PHCC teams, unions of municipalities, project participants and their families. He/she will closely work with local communities, PHCC teams and local leaders to ensure that the project activities have widespread acceptance. He/she will lead all outreach and awareness raising activities (Home and/or shelter visits, community dialogues, awareness sessions and campaigns).
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with communities and PHCC teams.

• Identify potential participants and provide accurate information about the project’s activities while supporting PHCC teams.
• Carry out field assessments to identify community interventions, etc.
• Carry out community dialogues, awareness sessions, information sessions…
• Support in completing data collection (surveys, FGDs, KII….) and in data management and analysis when needed
• Support in preparation and carrying out needed activities trainings and edutainment initiatives,
• Complete raising awareness activities, and/or other field activities as requested by management team, in partnership with PHCC teams, when needed.
• S/he will support and coach the community mobilizers’ teams to launch an awareness raising campaign. This campaign shall be also directed towards the areas and/or activities that would include interaction with a large number of people in collective shelters and/or in houses.
• Formulates monthly reports on awareness sessions, trainings, community dialogues and home/shelter visits. Contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting on project activity progress and project impact.
• Develop and maintains a filing system of project participants when needed.
• Complete data entry using templates suggested by M&E.
• Any other task assigned by the line manager.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

• Degree in social work or related field
• Experience of supporting community engagement projects
• At least 2 years of relevant experience working with NGOs, municipalities, local governance actors/vulnerable populations

Reporting

The Field officer shall report to the project manager.
