ABAAD– Resource Centre for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region.

ABAAD advocates for the development and implementation of policies and laws that enhance women’s effective participation, through a rights-based approach that would bring about tangible change to gender justice.

With the purpose of ending gender-based violence, ABAAD adopts a holistic care approach to provide protection and support services to GBV survivors/right holders during times of peace, war and disasters since 2011.

 

Overall goal of this assignment

The objective of this consultancy is to establish a strong digital presence for the Jina Al Dar project by creating a comprehensive media management plan. This entails developing a cohesive visual identity that aligns with ABAAD's organizational branding, producing photo and video documentation to capture the essence of the project, and generating compelling social media content to effectively communicate its goals and impact. In addition, the consultancy aims to maintain and update the project's website, ensuring it serves as a reliable and engaging platform for information dissemination and audience interaction. Overall, the consultancy seeks to leverage various media channels to enhance Jina Al Dar's visibility, engage with its target audience, and contribute to its mission.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Visual Identity and Brand Integration: The consultant will develop a cohesive digital visual identity for Jina Al Dar, including logo design, color scheme, typography, and custom icons. This visual identity will also be integrated into the project's website to ensure a consistent user experience.

 

Media Production and Documentation: The consultant is responsible for photo and video documentation across eleven rounds, each covering a day of project activities. This includes the creation of a short film to announce the project, edited videos highlighting individual experiences, and a final video summarizing the project's impact.

 

Social Media and Content Management: The consultant will generate and manage content across social media platforms, including twelve posts and twenty-two stories. They are also responsible for updating the website's content, including text, images, and videos from field interventions.

 

Website update, branding and maintenance: The consultant will ensure updating the branding of the website, update its content and handle regular website maintenance tasks such as backups, page load times, and uptime monitoring. They will also troubleshoot and fix any dead links or errors.

 

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting: The consultant will measure the effectiveness of all media interventions through audience feedback and data analytics. Based on these evaluations, they will provide recommendations for future improvements.

 

Workplan and Timeline: The consultant will develop and manage a detailed timeline for each media output and service. They are responsible for maintaining open communication with the ABAAD team, including periodic reporting on progress.

 

 

Skills required

 

  1. Web Development: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with experience in content management systems.
  2. Graphic Design: Skill in design software such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for creating visual elements.
  3. Content Management: Experience in content creation and editing
  4. Data Analytics: Familiarity with web analytics tools like Google Analytics for monitoring and evaluation.
  5. Attention to Detail: Critical for ensuring accuracy in content and website functionality.
  6. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot website issues.
  7. Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to feedback and make adjustments as needed.
