Dorcas is a Christian relief and development organisation active in Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Dorcas works together with local partner organisations. Dorcas is committed to fulfil the command Jesus Christ gave to His followers to take care of the poor and oppressed (Mt.25.31-46), irrespective of their race, religion, gender or political conviction, by encouraging self-reliance through development, providing social care and assisting in emergency situations.

Dorcas plans to build capacity for local NGOs and CBOs in Aleppo following the October 2023 Multi-Sector Needs Assessment (MSNA), which highlighted significant gaps in livelihood, protection, and mental health services. The MSNA recommended enhancing local NGO capabilities to deliver comprehensive support. Through training and sensitization programs, this initiative targets community leaders, healthcare providers, and frontline staff to improve prevention and response efforts.
