Terms of Reference (TOR) for Emotional Intelligence Trainer

1. Background and Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to engage a professional trainer to design and deliver an emotional intelligence (EI) training program for [insert target audience here, e.g., employees, leaders, students, etc.]. The aim of this training is to develop participants' emotional intelligence in key areas such as self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, social skills, and motivation.

2. Objective

To deliver a comprehensive and engaging Emotional Intelligence training program that improves participants' understanding of EI and equips them with practical skills to enhance their emotional intelligence in both personal and professional settings.

3. Scope of Work

The trainer will be responsible for the following:

  • Training Design: Develop and customize the EI training program, including the curriculum, training materials, and exercises suited to the needs of the audience.
  • Training Delivery: Facilitate the training sessions, ensuring active participation and interaction from all attendees.
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Implement feedback mechanisms and evaluate the effectiveness of the training program.
  • Reporting: Provide a final report detailing the outcomes of the training, including participant feedback, recommendations for improvement, and any follow-up steps if required.

4. Key Responsibilities

The trainer will be expected to:

  • Pre-training Preparation:
    • Conduct a needs assessment if necessary to tailor the training to the specific audience.
    • Develop the training program outline and detailed agenda.
    • Create learning materials (slides, handouts, assessments, etc.).
  • Training Delivery:
    • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions on EI.
    • Use a variety of training methods including presentations, group discussions, role plays, case studies, and interactive exercises.
    • Ensure that the training environment is inclusive, supportive, and conducive to learning.
  • Post-training Follow-up:
    • Provide additional resources for participants to deepen their EI knowledge.
    • Offer one-on-one coaching or group follow-up sessions, if required.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Submit a final report summarizing the training outcomes, including pre- and post-training assessments (if any), participant feedback, and recommendations for future training.

5. Skills and Qualifications

The ideal trainer should have:

  • Proven expertise in emotional intelligence, with experience in delivering EI training to diverse groups.
  • A solid understanding of the key components of emotional intelligence (self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills).
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • The ability to create an interactive and engaging training environment.
  • Relevant certifications in Emotional Intelligence (such as EQ-i 2.0 or MSCEIT) or related qualifications.
  • Experience in corporate or organizational settings (if applicable).

6. Deliverables

  • Training Program Outline and Agenda.
  • Customized EI Training Materials (Slides, Handouts, Exercises, etc.).
  • Pre- and Post-Training Evaluation Forms.
  • Final Report on Training Outcomes and Recommendations.

7. Location and Duration

  • Location: Venue provided by Trainer
  • Training Duration:1 Day
  • Training Dates: April 10

8. Payment and Terms

  • Payment for the trainer will be made based on the deliverables and the agreed-upon fee schedule.
  • The trainer will be paid upon the completion of specific milestones (e.g., after delivery of training or after submission of final report).

9. Confidentiality and Code of Conduct

  • The trainer agrees to maintain confidentiality regarding any proprietary or sensitive information shared during the training.
  • The trainer is expected to follow professional standards of conduct and ensure the training is inclusive and respectful of all participants.

How to apply

Interested candidates and/or firms should submit:

- A technical proposal with:

- - Detailed description of the methodology to be implemented

- A financial offer including a budget with detailed sections of all expenses,

- An updated CV of the applicant coupled with the CVs of the other team members. Firms are expected to send their profiles with the CVs of the team members

- 3 most recent professional references close to the current consultancy

- A document presenting the legality of the consultant status

- An example of similar studies conducted in the past for other I/NGOs in a similar context

- References and the completion letters from the other organizations

Secours Islamique France (SIF) will consider both individual and team/Firm applications. TheTrainer(s) will be selected based on their relevant experience and expertise, rigor of their design, availability, and value for money
