Methodology:

DAA will hire an expert to conduct a qualitative assessment to assess the situation of the females’ prisoners and prisons, during the multifaced crisis that hit Lebanon since 2019, the study will focus as well on human rights violations against female prisoners. The assessment will be based on previous studies and documented violations, and will reflect the Lebanese context, the consequences of the multifaced crisis and the absence of governmental response. 

A review of the theoretical background is required to address concepts, definitions, principles and values of human rights and stigmatization of female prisoners, to report current initiatives and responses and to highlight the barriers and challenges.

Deliverables:

  • Assessment of the situation of the females’ prisoners and prisons, during the multifaced crisis that hit Lebanon.
  • Consolidate the results and recommendations in an updated report.
  • Issue the final report.
