Design for Communities (D4C) is a local non-governmental organization based in Beirut established in 2018 that brings together designers and professionals from a variety of backgrounds to design and engage in community-based projects to build a sustainable future.

Assignment Overview:

D4C is looking for a consultant to support the organization in strengthening its financial sustainability and maintain the impact of its mentoring and educational programs as well as community projects. This will require assessing the financial model, revenue sources of the organizations and supporting in diversifying and strengthening revenue generation streams. 

The Financial Sustainability expert will undertake the following tasks:

• Strategic Financial Planning
• Assess the current strategic financial plan and how financial targets are achieved within the organization. 
• Identify potential funding sources and develop strategies for revenue diversification.
• Advise on cost management and efficiency improvement measures.
• Explore income generation initiatives, social enterprises, or partnerships.
• Evaluate potential revenue streams and advise on their viability and impact.
• Identify financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop and initiate the implementation of a strategy and action plan to enhance the organization's financial sustainability and business model, in alignment with its vision and mission.

 Tasks and Deliverables:

Conduct participatory 2 workshops to assess the financial situation of the organization and gather feedback and insights from team members 

Identify needs and opportunities for funding diversification. 

Develop a financial sustainability strategy and action plan

Conduct training to present the strategy action plan and timeframe and discuss with team members

Support the organization in approaching investors/donors and accessing new networks

Skills and Experience Required:

An advanced university degree in financial sustainability or business development, or other relevant fields;

At least 3 years of experience in developing financial sustainability plans for organizations;

Ability to produce high-quality deliverables in a timely manner while understanding and anticipating the evolving needs of audiences;

Strong verbal and written communication skills;

Writing and working proficiency in Arabic and English.
