Volunteer Position at Shatila Center
The National Institution of Social Care and Vocational Training (NISCVT), known as Beit Atfal Assumoud, is a humanitarian, non-sectarian and non-governmental organization, and it is not related to any political or religious groups, working within the Palestinian refugee community in Lebanon. NISCVT's multi-services contribute to the development of the Palestinian community in Lebanon. By addressing the needs of the family with gender-balanced projects, NISCVT aims at empowering the individual, supporting the community resiliency, and preserving the national identity
This position is under the project titled STEP: Skills Training and Empowerment for Palestinian Youth, which is led by Right To Play – Lebanon in partnership with UNICEF – Palestinian Programme.
STEP Project: The Skills Training and Empowerment for Palestinian Youth – STEP is contributing to building adolescents and youth’ skills and education which are relevant to the new market opportunities through a play-based life-skills, career guidance, job readiness, and employability package.
The STEP Project targets vulnerable and school dropout adolescents and youth who will develop essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration, while also addressing their specific learning needs and interests. Also, it will stem from a rights-based, integrated, child-centered approaches to reach Palestinian young people, aged 14 to 24 with a package that promotes their learning, upskilling their vocational training and accessing job opportunities.
The project is implemented within Palestinian 7 Camps and 3 Gatherings: Beirut: Shatila, North Lebanon: Nahr El Bared, South Lebanon: Saida: Miyeh ou Miyeh and Ein El Hilweh, & Tyre: Burj El Shemali, Rashidieh, El-Buss, Maachouq, Chabriha, Jal El Bahr.

Responsibilities
The Volunteer will be under the direct supervision of the Field Worker. The incumbent will be working for 9 hours per week and will be responsible to:
• Coordinate the outreach, identification, selection and registration of beneficiaries for different activities of the project
• Participate in trainings conducted by Right To Play or the CSO
• Support the Field worker in coordinating training sessions to all beneficiaries (youth and adolescents) on skills development
• Coordinate the proper logistics for the training sessions in coordination with the field worker
• Validate the attendance of beneficiaries in the sessions using the tools provided by the CSO and Right To Play
• Document project’s activities through videos and photos
• Foster a supportive learning environment conducive to personal and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with Beit Atfal Assumoud relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the management team aiming at developing the center work.
Qualifications
• Be aged 18-24 years
• Relevant Certification
• Residing in Shatila & Palestinian Refugee Camps is a must
• Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic
• Previous experience in field work is an asset
• Good computer skills (Microsoft, Google workplace, surveys)
