Medical Mission Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning of medical missions and creating work plans together with the medical coordinator
• Collect data from the implementing team and participate in the reporting of medical mission achievements regularly and as required
• Update SAMS medical missions’ database based on referred cases via email and hotline
• Collect and record beneficiaries data covered by SAMS through access to secondary healthcare and medical missions in coordination with the MEAL department
• Receive and identify eligible patients as designated by the project and mission criteria via email and hotline
• Conduct follow up calls with the patients that benefitted from SAMS projects and medical missions’ services to check on their status and refer to relevant services accordingly if needed.
• Conduct and track the referral processes between SAMS and other NGOs in Bekaa using the patients’ processing database
• Contribute to the identification and development of tools needed for implementing medical mission and project activities.

Responsibilities in Supporting Access to Secondary Healthcare

• Work as a focal point in the Bekaa to coordinate with hospitals' focal points/beneficiaries/relevant partners and process patients
• Attend coordination meetings and represent SAMS in the Bekaa Health Working Group meetings and other relevant coordination meetings held in the Bekaa
• Liaise with stakeholders and identify service providers relevant to SAMS activities and beneficiaries
• Follow up with Bekaa hospitals' focal points to revise documents needed and track missing information needed for patient approvals and processing
• Prepare commitment letters for the patients covered by SAMS projects in each hospital on a monthly basis
• Receive and review invoices sent from Bekaa hospitals for the covered patients prior to sharing with the medical coordinator and finance department.

Logistics and Trainings

• Conduct trainings to Bekaa staff members and volunteers on health topics to increase awareness of the local communities targeted by SAMS within the Bekaa region
• Attend trainings held by UNHCR and other NGOs about health topics in the Bekaa area
• Prepare and follow up with purchase requisition for items needed for projects and medical missions in coordination with the medical coordinator and operations officer according to the procurement policy.
• Ensure delivery of medical supplies to designated institutions in coordination with the medical coordinator and operations officer
• Update the medical inventory of the Bekaa warehouse on a bi-monthly basis
• Fulfill other duties and requirements as agreed upon with the line management.

Education Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in health related field (Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Nutrition etc.)

Experience:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience.
• Previous experience in NGO and humanitarian field is a must.
