SAMS is a global medical relief organization. SAMS provides medical assistance to every person in need. SAMS was established in 1998, as a professional society to provide physicians with networking, educational, cultural and professional services. In 2011, SAMS expand its capacity to respond to the growing needs and challenges of the medical needs and worked on the front lines of crisis relief in Syria, in neighboring countries and beyond to save lives and alleviate suffering. SAMS also responded to the local natural disaster in the United States and extended its reach to Bangladesh. SAMS doubled its objectives and provide medical training opportunities.

SAMS currently has over 1500 grassroots members in the United States who leads 26 Chapters.

Job

Located within SAMS Beqaa Office and working closely with SAMS Program Manager in the Beqaa, Medical Manager, MEAL Officer, Procurement Officer, medical teams, and others as needed, the LFAC Diabetic Project Officer will be the focal point of SAMS Diabetic activities in the Beqaa region. The role involves health promotion and education activities targeting 150 beneficiaries under 25 years old, including 3 rounds of sessions for each beneficiary and the distribution of diabetes testing kits. Sessions will be conducted at our office in Bekaa.

Purpose of Assignment
SAMS has long experience in emergency response in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and beyond. In response to the recent attack, SAMS initiated a humanitarian response by collaborating with international and local partners. The main initiatives impeded distribution of fresh food baskets in Middle and Northern Gaza, along with distribution of clothes. Moreover, SAMS has financially supported international organizations which helped advance medical response amidst heightened tension. The support will expand to serve additional geographical affected areas in Gaza whilst focusing on SAM
