Description: 

Salam LADC (Salam) is an apolitical, non-religiously affiliated NGO, founded in the South of Lebanon. We provide education, livelihood support services and emergency aid to vulnerable people, regardless of their nationality, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion or political affiliation. Operations are conducted in Beirut, Central Bekaa and Kawkaba. Currently our largest operation is in Central Bekaa, where we offer a multitude of projects within our Saadnayel Community Center and in ITS' through our Bus Project. This role will be based in Saadnayel, and transportation is not included. 

We are recruiting for a full-time operations coordinator. Part of the core management team, this role acts as an intermediary between the field and the office staff, and plays a central role in the daily operations as well as the development and strategy of the organization. As a small organization we are open to those with less experience who can demonstrate strong initiative, work-ethic, and motivation to learn new skills and perform them at high quality. Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Supporting the preparation of new projects in close cooperation with Salam Management Team, Accounting and Logistics. 
  • Responsible for the safety, compliance and visibility of activities, including updating SoPs when necessary, visiting government officials and communicating security issues to staff 
  • Play a key role in supporting program effectiveness and efficiency by providing comprehensive day-to-day operational support to the field 
  • Respond to operational inquiries from the field and coordinate with the team to find solutions 
  • Facilitate regularly-scheduled project operational meetings and maintain minutes/priority lists to track action items
  • Working with focal points and management, oversee MEAL activities and ensure adequate reporting is completed on time
  • Contribute to the overall fundraising of the Salam LADC association
  • Establish and maintain relations with donors and collaborators 
  • Represent the Organisation in relevant stakeholder meetings

Required:

  • Fluent Arabic and very good English 
  • Valid driving license
  • Very strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office suite 
  • Strong mathematical skills, comfortable with creating and using accurate budgets
  • Highly organized, able to track and respond to constantly changing priorities 
  • 1+ years experience working in operations, logistics or relevant field
  • Strong people skills, ability to work in a close-knit team environment

 

Desirable 

  • Experience working in the field with vulnerable communities 
  • Training in safeguarding, health and safety, risk management, PSEA
  • Fundraising experience 
  • French
