About Karma

Founded in May 2015, Karma is a Lebanese non-profit, non-governmental organisation registered with the Lebanese Ministry of Interior in November 2015 under the registration number 2565. Karma’s vision is to ensure financial and psychosocial support for underprivileged children/youth suffering from Cancer or Thalassemia, making no distinction based on nationality, origin, or religious/ ethnic affiliation. On the 1st of June 2023, Karma started a thalassemia project, funded by MSF France for a period of 12 months, aiming at providing comprehensive multidisciplinary care, free of charge, for a specific number of paediatric patients with thalassemia, residing in Lebanon.

Job Purpose

Coordinate fundraising efforts to maximise outreach and help Karma achieve its financial goals for the project “Thalassemia among vulnerable children in Lebanon: the need for an intervention”.

Main Tasks

Under the direct supervision of the Project Director and Karma’s board, the Fundraising Manager’s main tasks include:

• Developing and executing a fundraising strategy for Karma’s Thalassemia project;
• Conducting research on fundraising opportunities;
• Reaching out to potential donors and present Karma’s Thalassemia project to relevant stakeholders; 
• Writing funding proposals and submitting these to potential donors; 
• Following up on funding proposals with potential donors; 
• Supporting the project director in reporting to donors as well as monitoring and evaluation;

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in nonprofit management, finance,or relevant experience;
• At least 3 years of experience in related field;
• Excellent writing and speaking skills in English and Arabic;
• Proved project management and organisational skills;
• Creative problem-solving skills for fundraising within a challenging field;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good public presentation skills, and a very strong capacity for effective teamwork;
• Knowledge of basic financial management
