Responsibilities

  • Lead the plan for developing community health and nutrition activities in assigned areas according to the project intervention framework
  • Lead the implementation of health and nutrition activities assigned with project outlines’ activities
  • Ensure that Health Outreach Consultants (HOC) have the needed information on beneficiaries, referral system and provided services
  • Participate and monitor community health clubs’ sessions and provide feedback to volunteers to improve their performance
  • Provide awareness session on nutrition topics for pregnant women, lactating women and/or children
  • Identify and follow up with women and children on nutrition problems
  • Identify pregnant and lactating women and deliver counselling sessions for them
  • Screen and identify malnourished infant and children to be referred as per referral mechanism
  • Provide one-to-one and group sessions related to IYCF for pregnant and/or lactating women
  • Deliver sessions on breastfeeding, complementary feeding and IYCF practices
  • Conduct and engage in nutrition and health education to ensure the promotion of positive health seeking behavior including maternal and child health
  • Conduct and follow up referrals request on by the caregivers on nutrition, health, WASH, mental health, food security, protection, etc.
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling all the needed activities
  • Coordinate with midwifes colleagues for planned activities, practices and lessons learned
  • Train and supervise HOC in the field to lead malnutrition screening
  • Develop different awareness tools such as lessons plan and educational booklets
  • Train HOC on different reproductive, maternal and child health topics
  • Report immediately and difficulty and/or delay in the implementation of activities to the PM
  • Create weekly schedule of activities to be conducted according to project
  • Responsible for a group of HOC
  • Responsible for delivering all the needed information for HOC regarding work, background and area culture  

Logistics, Data Collection & Reporting

  • Identify the needs of materials and tools needed to conduct training activities, health and nutrition campaigns
  • Collect and report information on beneficiaries reached through outreached activities
  • Identify the number of reached beneficiaries, through volunteer’s progress towards assigned targets
  • Document and report training sessions and feedback from participants and beneficiaries
  • Submit weekly report to the PM, including awareness database
  • Submit monthly report to the PM including all the inputs on all activities

Qualifications

Requirement

  • Educational degree in Midwife
  • Proven experience for 2 years working in NGOs and community health

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent experience in conducting trainings and monitoring teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Literacy in reporting and experience in conducting surveys

Computer Skills

  • Excellent knowledge in MS office

Others

  • Valid driving license
  • Familiar with north region
