The Internship Program Officer  will be responsible for developing new internship programs or improving existing ones. This might include creating job descriptions, establishing eligibility requirements, setting standards for performance evaluation, linking internship opportunities with jobs in the market, etc. In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for securing internship opportunities for the set target of beneficiaries/trainees, and establishing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) to foster long-term relationships with employers.

  • Promote and introduce DOTLebanon to new potential employers & regularly coordinate with existing partner employers
  • Assist in developing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) & partnerships to establish long-term relationships with employers.
  • Engage and meet employers across diverse sectors through in-person or online meetings.
  • Collaborate with the communication unit to generate ideas for promoting the internship program.
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as procurement, M&E, Finance & Admin, HR, and others.
  • Prepare and provide weekly reports to the internship program manager, highlighting progress and challenges.
  • Generate monthly reports for the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) unit, providing key insights and data on program outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of internship placements, employer partnerships, and program activities.
  • Stay updated on recent trends and labor market demands to align the internship program with current needs.
  • Coordinate with the BDGA and Operations teams on projects’ design and targets.
  • Ensure proper internship process with Area managers, field officers and local partners.
  • Ensure beneficiaries/trainees are aware of DOTLebanon’s internship program
  • Develop and keep up-to-date employers databases with relevant information.
  • Manage the flow of applications through the recruitment process by collecting and reviewing applications.
  • Assess trainees information, including resumes and contact details, using a Workforce Data Management System
  • Review candidate application forms to determine qualifications, experience levels, and relevant skill sets.
  • Identify candidates with relevant experience and qualifications who may be interested in open positions.
  • Support and coach candidates who don’t have a CV to prepare one.
  • Interview candidates to assess their qualifications and fit with the employer's job requirements.
  • Conduct reference checks to verify information on applications and resumes.
  • Schedule and conduct orientation sessions for new interns.
  • Conduct pre-evaluations and post-evaluations at different levels (1 Month, Quarterly, Mid-Year or end of internship).
  • Conduct exit interviews with departing interns to assess satisfaction with the program and offer feedback to improve future offerings.
  • Set and implement a growth plan for the internship program
  • Follow up on the recruitment of interns post internship, if needed
