​BACKGROUND: 

The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization based in Beirut. CLDH was created in 2006 by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily), which has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human rights violations.  

CLDH monitors the human rights situation in Lebanon, fights enforced disappearance, impunity, arbitrary detention and racism and rehabilitates the victims of torture. CLDH regularly organizes press conferences, workshops and advocacy meetings on human rights issues in Lebanon and collects, records and documents human rights abuses in reports and press releases.  

CLDH team on the ground supports initiatives aimed at determining the fate of all missing persons in Lebanon.  

CLDH regularly follows up on numerous cases of arbitrary detention and torture in Lebanon in coordination with Lebanese and international organizations, and with the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention WGAD and the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture. 

CLDH currently has 4 offices: Dora, Baouchrieh, Beqaa and Tripoli. 

 

Job Profile: 

Under the direction and supervision of Human Resources Officer (HRO), the Human Resources Assistant  will assist the HRO in their daily tasks.

Your Contribution: 

●Review and update all employee and consultant contracts 

●Review and update all TORs 

●Keep an updated organizational chart 

●Prepare monthly timesheets for all staff 

●Prepare payments for consultants  

●Maintain effective communication tools within the organization 

●Document all recruitment procedures 

●In charge of advertising all calls and job offers 

●Manage and update all employees’ files 

●Make sure a yearly development and evaluation process is done for all staff 

●Keep track of all employee days off / leave requests 

●Archive all interesting CVs/Resumes that CLDH could possibly use 

●Update Interview Guide questions depending on available position  

●Always be available for all employees’ complaints or requests for help 

●Assist the team in proposals – for all HR related parts 

●Register all employees in and out of the NSSF and provide certification when requested 

●Act as the HR representative for all CLDH offices 

 

Qualifications and Education: 

●Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships within all CLDH employees. 

●Ability to produce easy to read procedures for staff. 

●Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

●Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in English, French and Arabic.  

Education: 

A Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Business/Management/HR/Psychology or related fields. 

Location: 

The HR assistant is based in one of CLDH’s offices in Dora, Baouchrieh, Beqaa and Tripoli, with monthly visits to the other offices.
