About ABAAD
ABAAD– Resource Center for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region.
ABAAD advocates for the development and implementation of policies and laws that enhance women’s effective participation, through a rights-based approach that would bring about tangible change to gender justice.
With the purpose of ending gender-based violence, ABAAD adopts a holistic care approach to provide protection and support services to GBV survivors/right holders during times of peace, war and disasters since 2011.
About the project
The project “Reducing vulnerabilities for refugees and Lebanese host communities and strengthening Lebanese civil society” was designed to increase the resilience and social stability of 120,600 Lebanese and refugee women, men, girls and boys affected by the multifaceted crises in Lebanon in Tripoli, North Lebanon. This was set to be achieved through the following interlinked outcomes: (1) crisis-affected populations in Tripoli and the Beddawi Camp, particularly women and youth, have strengthened agency and improved access to protection and basic services; (2) crisis-affected populations and local actors in Tripoli and the Beddawi Camp are active agents in the promotion of protection, resilience and social stability. This project started on the 1st of March 2021 and will end on the 31st of December 2022.
Overall goal of this assignment
The overall goal of this assignment is to develop 4 videos highlighting the events/initiatives that the community group members will implement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop 4 videos reflecting the initiatives implemented by the community. Suggested duration of each video is between 3 to 5 minutes.
- Filming: As part of the preparation work, attend all stages of the initiatives to capture the needed footage. It is estimated to attend a minimum of 5 field events (5 days of shooting). It is therefore advised to indicate the daily fees for the shooting day. Noting that most activities take place in North Lebanon.
- Script preparation: based on footage collected during the filming days, and the footage compiled from ABAAD and through meeting with the team to define the priorities, the film producer will need to prepare 4 scripts for the 4 movies. Upon approval of the 4 script ideas, the film producer will proceed to the editing phase
- Movie editing based on agreed- upon film ideas and scripts. First draft will be shared with ABAAD for feedback.
- Implement post-production processes including:
- Voice over upon need,
- Music (free of rights /original / eventually plan to purchase the rights)
- Professional Translation and subtitling in english,
- Branding using the project identity logos and titles introduction as per guidelines to be shared
- Take into consideration the rounds of edits and approval from ABAAD team, ABAAD management, and the donor.
- Ensure that format of the videos is adequate for social media dissemination and for public screening
Skills required
- Production of videos, filming, editing, etc. please share a portfolio with links of film production work.
- Previous experience within the humanitarian sector is a plus.
