ABOUT ABAAD

ABAAD– Resource Center for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD advocates for the development and implementation of policies and laws that enhance women’s effective participation, through a rights-based approach that would bring about tangible change to gender justice. With the purpose of ending gender-based violence, ABAAD adopts a holistic care approach to provide protection and support services to GBV survivors/right holders during times of peace, war and disasters since 2011.

OVERALL GOAL OF THIS ASSIGNMENT

Lebanon has been facing multiple crisis since 2020; from socioeconomic deteriorations to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Beirut Blast. The collective impact has increased women and girls’ vulnerabilities and risks of gender-based violence (GBV). To address this, ABAAD is seeking to provide livelihood activities for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) residing in safe shelters, aiming for their skill development and empowerment and eventual reintegration into society.

ABAAD is seeking to implement an Entrepreneurship Training for women residing in safe shelters to pursue the entrepreneurship track to initiate and sustain their businesses.

The primary goal of this training is to empower and equip participants with the necessary skills to initiate income generating opportunities and execute their business plans successfully covering various aspects of basic entrepreneurship, basic business development, basic financial management, basic digital marketing, and technology skills, and labor law.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The trainer's responsibilities will include:

  1. Designing the Curriculum
    • Develop comprehensive curricula in both English and Arabic, covering various aspects of entrepreneurship, business development, basic financial management, basic digital marketing and technology, and labor law.
    • Ensure the curriculum includes gender-sensitive content and practical applications for sustainability.
    • Create training materials, presentations, agendas, pre-tests to assess the initial knowledge and skills of the staff, and post-tests to measure the improvement in knowledge and skills gained through the training.

       

  2. Providing Interactive Training
    • Conduct an Entrepreneurship Training with the necessary tools and knowledge.
    • Utilize participatory methods and practical exercises to foster an entrepreneurial mindset, idea generation, business development, basic digital marketing, basic financial management, basic technology skills, and understanding of labor law.
    • Provide thorough coverage of essential entrepreneurship concepts, tools, and effective mentoring approaches to empower participants to launch their own projects.

 

  1. Preparing a Final Report
    • Prepare a final report that summarizes the training results, participants' observations, and recommendations for future training.

TRAINER PORTFOLIO and SKILLS REQUIRED

 

 

  • University degree in Business Administration or Related Field
  • In-depth knowledge of entrepreneurship essentials, growth strategies, and business development.
  • Ability to Conduct Effective Assessments and Provide Constructive Feedback
  • Proven expertise in entrepreneurship, mentorship and training facilitation.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Female trainer

 

 

SELECTION AND EVALUATION PROCESS:              

 

Evaluation:

Upon passing the initial 'go' decision based on eligibility, the evaluation will proceed in two distinct parts: technical and financial. The technical evaluation will assess the relevance and adequacy of the proposed approach and the expertise of the consultant, ensuring alignment with the assignment’s objectives and requirements. The financial evaluation will review the cost-effectiveness and overall budget feasibility. Both sections must be satisfactorily addressed for a bid to be considered for award.

 

A- Technical Evaluation:

Bidders must submit the mandatory requirements. These documents and the information therein will be used to conduct the technical evaluation based on the following considerations:

 

      • Expertise and experience.
      • Methodological robustness.
      • Relevance of the proposal.
      • Quality and relevance of the previous work.
      • Interview performance.

 

Evaluation Criteria - Score Weight

Technical Proposal matching the ToR - 15%

Clear and Strong methodology - 15%

Portfolio/ Proven track record in rendering similar services - 10%

Qualifications of consultants - 10%

Proven experience in entrepreneurship, business development, financial management, digital marketing, and legal aspects.           - 10%

Technical Interview - 10%

Sub-Total - 70%

 

 

 

  • To get maximum scores, Bidders are encouraged to submit all documents and / information listed above.
  • Those who meet the score threshold of 50% will proceed to the evaluation of the financial proposal.

 

 

    • B- Financial Proposal:

 

All Bidders should provide/submit the Financial Proposal/ Quote in a separate file while including the following information:

    • Bidders must quote for the Cost of Materials separately/ show a separate line for each category.
    • Bidders to indicate Lead Times (number of days) needed to deliver to designated focal points full consignment from the date of contract signing.
    • Bidders to clearly state the quote validity period. The prices for the contract are fixed and not subject to revision.
    • To get maximum score bidders are encouraged to ensure all the above information and instructions are clearly stated and included in the financial proposal.
    • The evaluation/ adjudication of financial bids will be done based on the following criteria for the financial proposal:
