Job requirements & experience required:
A certificate from the Higher Conservatory of Music is highly desirable or an approved equivalent.
Previous work experience in teaching Guitar in an educational setting is required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure the use of good facilitation skills that make the children and adolescents feel comfortable and enhance their active participation.
- Ensure that children and adolescents are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activity and that they feel safe and respected.
- Positively interact with the participants.
- Recommending and referring a particular case to the best course of action to the Program Director.
- Develop a detailed working plan of the sessions that will be provided at the beginning of the Cycle.
- Fill out the lesson plan form and submit it to the AEP Monitor.
- Refer to the AEP Assistant on matters related to materials needed and logistics.
- Ensure the achievement of the sessions’ objectives.
- Update the attendance sheet for each session.
- Submit a final report after the end of the Cycle.
Expected outcome:
- Participants will acquire the essential skills for note reading and writing, keys and scales, fingering techniques, and durations.
- They will also learn basic scales and most used chords and accompaniment strumming patterns which they will be able to perform in a final event.
Guitars, foot stools, and picks will be provided to be used within the training sessions.
