About ABAAD

ABAAD– Resource Center for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD advocates for the development and implementation of policies and laws that enhance women’s effective participation, through a rights-based approach that would bring about tangible change to gender justice. With the purpose of ending gender-based violence, ABAAD adopts a holistic care approach to provide protection and support services to GBV survivors/right holders during times of peace, war and disasters since 2011.

About the project

The project “Reducing vulnerabilities for refugees and Lebanese host communities and strengthening Lebanese civil society” was designed to increase the resilience and social stability of 120,600 Lebanese and refugee women, men, girls and boys affected by the multifaceted crises in Lebanon in Tripoli, North Lebanon. This was set to be achieved through the following interlinked outcomes: (1) crisis-affected populations in Tripoli and the Beddawi Camp, particularly women and youth, have strengthened agency and improved access to protection and basic services; (2) crisis-affected populations and local actors in Tripoli and the Beddawi Camp are active agents in the promotion of protection, resilience and social stability. This project started on the 1^st of March 2021 and will end on the 31^st of December 2022.

Overall goal of this assignment

The overall goal of this assignment is to provide 20 women with the needed theoretical and technical skills over a duration of 12 sessions on skincare and makeup application to feel economically empowered to further advance and seek opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• The trainer will be responsible for conducting 12 training sessions over a period of 3 months on skincare and makeup application to empower 20 women or girls economically;
• The trainer is to share with the project team the set session schedule that will describe the main objective of each session and include a brief on what will be taught in each session;
• The trainer is to share with the project team the relevant training tools, materials, and methodology to be used during the sessions to ensure these are culturally sensitive to the targeted population;
• The trainer is to provide progress reports inclusive of attendance sheets and to provide support in the application of the quality assurance procedures on a monthly basis in close coordination with the project team mainly the project coordinator – through:
  • Assessing the satisfaction of targeted beneficiaries using the satisfaction survey
  • Facilitating complaint mechanism procedures through informing the targeted population of the complaint cycle procedures
  • Assessing impact of the provided activities through using MEAL tools, such as pre-post-tests, evaluation forms, etc.

Skills required

• Previous experience in providing socio-economic training for women on skincare and makeup application
• Previous experience in working Tripoli, specifically in Qubbeh
• Previous knowledge of the cultural aspects (norms, traditions and beliefs) related to most vulnerable population in Lebanon (including Syrian, and Palestinian refugees and host communities)
