Parliament Observatory Video Production Consultancy
The Legal Agenda (LA) is seeking to contract a video production consultant for 1 year to produce several videos to promote the work of its parliament observatory.
Consultancy Period: July 2022 – June 2023
About Legal Agenda
The Legal Agenda is a Beirut-based non-governmental non-profit organization, with a branch in Tunisia. The organization addresses issues of legal activism, reform, and transformation in the context of social and political change in the Arab world. Legal Agenda’s team composed of jurists, researchers, and journalists aim to lift the barriers between the law and society in the Arab region so that those in power no longer monopolize lawmaking, and instead ordinary citizens can understand the process, criticize it, and participate in it.
LA’s specialized and alternative media platforms publish the organization’s socio-legal analysis and comparative research, policy monitoring articles, and journalistic investigations on a daily basis. The organization also engages in strategic litigation and advocacy campaigning to advance socio-economic rights and liberties, particularly on issues that affect the environment, the rights and freedoms of women, refugees, workers, detainees, disabled people, and other vulnerable groups.
Given the specialized but wide scope of the organization, LA’s target audience includes Legal professionals, social actors, community of issue, political actors, media outlets, and the general audience.
Main Responsibilities
In close a collaboration with the Legal Agenda team, the consultant will be responsible of:
- Developing 1 video to promote the findings of the Parliament Observatory report on the 2018-2022 mandate of the parliament (Expected in July-August).
- Developing 1 video to promote the launch of the new interactive Parliament Observatory Website (Expected in September)
- Developing up to 5 videos to promote Legal Agenda’s regular monitoring of the General Assembly Sessions.
Note that the format for those videos is to be proposed by the consultant as per the application instructions.
Related skills and experience
- Demonstrated ability to produce impactful videos in Arabic
- Ability to work closely with Legal Agenda’s team and engage in back and forth discussions in all phases, from conceptualization to implementation
- Demonstrated interest in social justice causes

To familiarize yourself with the type of content, you can check here the 2021 parliament report we developed; as for the parliament observatory website, it will be interactive and include up to date data and statistics on the performance of MPs, the Parliament Committees meetings, the general assembly sessions, and the draft laws as well as explainers about how the parliament works. Finally, you can refer to our previous reporting on the general assembly sessions here and here. The format for these latter videos should be quick to develop in order to respond quickly to developments and reach the widest audience.
