Education Project – Rehabilitation Works in 3 different lots: Beirut, Bekaa and North

Right To Play International is looking for an experienced contractor with experience in rehabilitating Play Areas and WASH facilities in schools and community centers in Beirut, the Bekaa, and the North.

I. PROJECT IN BRIEF:

The emergency project seeks to increase access to formal and non-formal education and to enhance a COVID-19 cautious and safe return to learning for 3,400 children in 3 schools/community centers in Beirut (Sabraa, Nabaa, Shiyeh), in 2 centers in the Bekaa (Saadnayel, Abb Elias) and in 3 centers in the North (Nahr el Bared, Beddawi, Jabal el Beddawi).

On one hand, the project will improve the health and safety of schools and/or centers to enable positive hygiene management for children and educators. On the other, rehabilitation work will include rehabilitating play spaces, WASH facilities and classrooms for children to participate in education community-based activities.

II. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE REHABILITATION PROCESS:

The primary objective of the rehabilitation is as follows:

1. Increase access of children to safe and quality classrooms, play spaces and WASH facilities by enhancing physical spaces in the community centers / schools.

III. REHABILITATION PROCESS METHODOLOGY:

Rehabilitation works will take place in 3 centers in Beirut, 2 centers in the Bekaa and 3 centers in the North and should be completed 1.5 months (calendar month) after contract’s signature.

1. You are invited to submit your price quotation (in USD – including VAT) for the construction of works as described in:
   Annex 1 – BOQ, Drawings and Activity Schedule / Completion schedule or work plan

and

Annex 2 Technical Specifications and Performance Requirements of this Request For Proposals.

Annex 0, presents your organization background and information, Annexes 3 and 4 present the Contract Agreement form and the General Conditions of contract applicable to this Request For Proposals, and that will be signed with the selected applicant only.

V. THE CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

• Implement the rehabilitation as per the consultant’s BOQs and other requirements.
• Report all activities (advancements, challenges etc.) to the consultant no later than 24h after the event
• Send as-built drawing to the consultant, and final handing over report.

The contractor will directly report to the Consultant who will directly report to the Project Officer at Lebanon office, who will serve as the focal point person for this Rehabilitation process
