Position Summary
Search is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate Communications/Media intern to help and support the development and implementation of the communications strategy.
This role requires a dynamic candidate with excellent communications skills and relevant experience, with the expertise to develop and adapt a range of robust and effective, proactive, and reactive digital communications to a variety of internal and external audiences.
Role and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Media and Communications Manager, the Media and Communication Intern will be responsible for:
- Support and coordinate with Project team members on delivering project's communications materials;
- Review and update communications materials and projects briefs;
- Be accountable for working with and supporting the Media and Communications Manager on the day-to-day planning, briefing, scheduling, and executing of social media content and activities;
- Support in the delivery of the social plans, including creating innovative and on-trend content;
- Assist in managing Seach's social media channels and communications;
- Assist in monitoring Search's social media accounts, ensuring to respond to queries and interactions promptly;
- Assist in the creation of the monthly calendars of social media content for Search and key programs by the organization;
- Providing weekly summaries of all activities and results, and working proactively to make suggestions and recommendations on how to improve;
- Providing support to the wider team with events and social content when required;
- Assist in following through the implementation of all plans by initiating activities, developing concepts, and contacting any communication partners needed in the implementation;
- Visit program venues/events / and others to create a photo and video gallery to use with communication;
- Support in the campaigns brainstorming sessions;
- Attend internal meetings with Program teams, MEAL, and other support departments within Search;
- Provide support in the procurement process as raising Prs, drafting TORs, etc.; and
- Assist with any other duties as requested by the direct supervisor
Required Profile
The following skills and experience are expected:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related field;
- Proficiency in English and Arabic (written and spoken);
- Ability to work on design software such as Photoshop (preferable);
- Knowledge of and experience using a variety of social media channels;
- A creative thinker who enjoys writing and creating content;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Self-motivated team player;
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- The ability to multitask; and
- Great interpersonal skills
