Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Provide support to livelihoods programme staff on integrating protection at all stages of implementation.
  • Conduct regular field visits at all stages of each project to monitor the implementation from a protection lens (protection risks are assessed and measured to reduce risks or negative impacts), to identify gaps and challenges in order to address it through tailored measures.
  • Accompany field staff to ensure support and coaching regarding the applying of the protection principles, identify any unforeseen negative impacts from the actions and address it through targeted actions.
  • Design and facilitate training sessions on Protection Mainstreaming principles and specific tools’ use for AVSI staff and partners.
  • Ensure that the “Youth protection policy in agricultural technical schools and training centers” is well respected by all actors within AVSI projects in schools and in partners CBOs’ premises.

 

  • Strengthen the internal referral mechanism through the safe identification of vulnerable persons and their safe internal referral.
  • Conduct individual interviews and/or home visits with all referred cases in order to do the preliminary assessment and decide whether ensuring the follow-up and/or external referral to relevant stakeholders in line with the Inter Agency referral standards by using RIMS.
  • Ensure beneficiaries’ files are up-to date, kept in a secured manner and necessary follow-ups done on time.
  • Plan and facilitate groups sessions for beneficiaries on topics related to Protection (GBV, legal services, targeted Support Services to Persons with Specific Needs, etc.) when and if needed/asked.

 

  • Ensure AVSI representation in the relevant coordination meetings at field level &/or at national level when asked.
  • Coordinate with other protection and GBV actors at field level to ensure being updates on available services in each area.
  • Produce qualitative and a quantitative report on monthly basis &/or mid-term/end year for internal and/or external purpose as requested.

 

  • Under close supervision of the Assessment, Analysis and Security Coordinator (specific for COVID 19 context)
  • Follow up on updates of covid-19 at national level, update content of awareness sessions on covid19 for all departments within AVSI;
  • Implement safety and security measures related to Covid-19 on field;
  • Follow up and update guidelines of preventive methods, as well as procedures in case of emergency on field;
  • Represent AVSI at health working groups (when required) to ensure that AVSI is up to date on all the covid 19 news, preventive measures, and implementation of emergency response.
  • Ensure regular communication with key AVSI staff representing AVSI at livelihood, agriculture, education working group to facilitate synergies on COVID related preventive issues
  • Carry out regular training/awareness raising sessions for staff and communities on the prevention of Covid-19.
