Are you who we’re looking for?
Frontline AIDS is looking for a finance professional with 3 to 5 years of experience. The Advisor: Finance PMU will play a vital role in ensuring the successful implementation of the grant through financial management across the program. The right candidate for this high profile grant will have a balance of financial management and accounting skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of civil society organizations in the MENA region.
Key responsibilities
Co-ordinate sub grantee financial reporting
- Work with sub grantee partners to co-ordinate and provide assistance as required to ensure that their reporting and forecasting are accurate and that all appropriate documentation is captured
- Act as operational finance point of contact for all partners, providing the support needed so that partners’ financial management is accurate and follows Global Fund requirements.
- Prepare/Review all Financial Reports submitted by sub grantee and check sample supporting documents (including bank reconciliation and Budget allocation)
- Liaise directly with the Frontline AIDS UK-based finance team to ensure financial reporting and accounting is completed effectively and on time.
- Work proactively to identify and mitigate financial risk at all levels and report to Frontline AIDS Global office in the UK if needed.
- Perform Spot checks and Capacity Building Exercise
- Work on financial management development for SRs and follow up on risks identified
Reporting and Auditing
- Manage the regular preparation of financial reports for internal management accounting.
- Prepare PMU monthly financial report.
- Provide the required financial reports to the Frontline AIDS grant team for submission to the Global Fund and provide financial analysis as needed in relation to partner and PMU expenses.
- Maintain sight of budget spend and support the Lead: Programs PMU in analysing and managing grant financial data.
- Maintain rigorous documentation of costs incurred at partner and PMU level following the requirements of Frontline AIDS and the Global Fund.
- Support the Frontline AIDS finance team with grant audit processes.
- Work with the Advisor: Organizational Development to support partners’ financial management and accounting needs.
Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:
Degree in Accounting/ Finance in addition to a membership of an accountancy body or studying towards a recognized accounting qualification.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have 3 to 5 years of experience
- Practical accounting experience, including transaction entry and reconciliations in general, purchase and sales ledger
- Preferrable experience working within an INGO
- Experience of donor reporting, especially Global Fund
- Experience of accounting for foreign currency and overseas operations
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong financial, analytical and accounting skills
- Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills
- Good calculation and analytical skills
- Excellent level of accuracy to a high level of detail
- High level of spoken and written Arabic/English, French is a plus.
