About Karma

Karma is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Lebanese Ministry of Interior in November 2015 under the registration number 2565. Karma was founded in May 2015. Through fundraising and personal donations we raise money to pay for the tertiary medical treatment of refugee and underprivileged children here in Lebanon. Karma provides not only financial but also psyho-social relief for people who have already dealt with a lot in their lives. Karma believes that every child deserves access to healthcare regardless of nationality, religion, social class or diagnosis.

About the Team

Karma, an organization reliant on volunteers and their contributions, is recruiting a team of interns that will assist in communications, outreach, events planning, and project management. These interns will be placed into different departments but will work as a team to contribute to Karma’s overall strategy.

Eligibility

We welcome applications from undergraduates, fresh graduates, or those in the process of completing their masters degree. Those majoring in communications, business, and marketting, or similar, are prioritized.

The internship period ranges from 3 months to one year based off of intern preferences. Interns will be expected to work for a minimum of 2.5 days a week and have the option of also working full time. Candidates should be knowledgeable about Karma’s work and should have working capacity in English and Arabic.

Main Tasks

Under the supervision of the Project and Outreach Manager, the communications interns will be expected to:

  • Assist in developing a Social Media strategy on Facebook and Instagram for Karma
  • Assist in website content updates
  • Schedule, organise, and attend events for Karma, in coordination with the Fundraising and Project team.
  • Assist in promoting Karma’s work by developing content (written, visual, and video) for social media
  • Contact press outlets to promote Karma’s work
  • Assist in other communication related tasks

Benefits

Internships are the doors to professionalism for young professionals. They not only allow you to get used to a professional setting, but also arm you with skills to be a competitive candidate for future employment opportunities.

Through this internship, you will:

  • Gain experience in the nonprofit sector in Lebanon
  • Become familiar with the healthcare system in Lebanon
  • Gain a greater understanding of non-profit management
  • Gain experience and pilot strategies in communications
  • Be an organiser for the programme's communications channels

The intern will receive a completion letter for their internship and Karma will sign-off on internship verification forms for university students.
