Job Overview:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team as a support resource during Gender Equality Sessions. The Social Worker will play a crucial role in providing emotional and practical support to participants, ensuring their well-being throughout the sessions. This position requires a commitment to the project's objectives, active participation in training, and adherence to safeguarding principles.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Participant Support:
    • Offer Psychosocial support to participants during and after gender equality sessions.
    • Identify and address the unique needs of individuals requiring additional assistance.
    • Provide resources and referrals to other services as needed.
  2. Collaboration with Community Mobilizer/ Facilitator of the sessions:
    • Work collaboratively with the Community Mobilizer to create a safe and inclusive environment for participants.
    • Assist in addressing challenging discussions and facilitating resolution when necessary.
    • Provide feedback to enhance the effectiveness of gender equality sessions.
  3. Training Commitment:
    • Attend training sessions alongside the Community Mobilizer to understand the curriculum and session dynamics.
    • Apply social work principles to contribute to the development of supportive strategies within the sessions.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed about relevant issues.
  4. Project Commitment:
    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the goals and objectives of the gender equality project.
    • Collaborate with the project team and actively contribute to the overall success of the initiative.
    • Assist in the assessment and documentation of the impact of gender equality sessions.
  5. Safeguarding:
    • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding in all interactions with participants.
    • Promptly report any safeguarding concerns and collaborate with the project team to address them.
    • Foster an environment that prioritizes the well-being and safety of all participants.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Experience in providing support in community settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to gender equality, diversity, and inclusion.
