We are looking for a Psycho-social Support Consultant for the Junior Leaders project (240 hours over 10 months)

The Junior Leaders project is an informal learning environment for the children of the vulnerable communities of Tripoli and El Mina where they can socialize and receive support on different aspects while providing an opportunity for youth to engage and acquire skills through voluntary work. The two components of the project "Children and Youth" aim at enhancing the cultural and behavioral environment of children from different backgrounds and Improving the civic engagement capacity and skills of youth volunteers. Children and youth are the future, they will carry the "WE LOVE" values of social responsibility, solidarity, and peaceful coexistence, and grow up to work with their community and lead positive change in their city.  "Junior Leaders" is a project within the Local Development Program in North Lebanon (UDP_NL) implemented through the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in partnership with We Love and the Ministry of Social Affairs. (UDP_NL) is co-funded by the European Union and Germany.

Major Activities

  • Provide psychological support through individual sessions involving the children
  • Assess the child’s psycho-social wellbeing and needs through counseling, interviews, and tests
  • Provide support to the peer-volunteers in handling resistance or lack of collaboration by families and children
  • Plan and design the PSS activities in collaboration with the project team
  • Engage the volunteers in the planning socio-recreational activities
  • Ensure the best practices in WE LOVE safeguarding measures and child protection policy as well as code of conduct
  • Conduct training and coaching sessions on Child Protection

Experience

Professional experience in psycho-social support, case management, and child protection, with previous engagement in humanitarian and volunteering actions, and a record of providing training and coaching sessions.

Education

A university degree in education, psychology, social work, or related area is required. A Master's degree is a plus.
