Gender Expert Technical Advisor (Individual)

The duties and responsibilities of the Gender Expert Technical Advisor will be to:

• Support the CRD research team as technical advisor on the Gender and Childhood development components of the study. He/She will support the CRD team with expert-level technical knowledge and evidence-based input on social protection, SGBV, gender inequality and adolescent development.
• Provide technical input/support in the development of the research questions, proposed methodology, ethical considerations, and possible limitations and risk mitigation measures;
• Contribute to the development of data collection instruments in the context;
• Contribute to the quality control, review, and validation of project data/information collected; 
• Participate in data analysis including the formulation of research findings and, importantly, operational recommendations both at programmatic and policy levels.

• Based on the above expectations, the Gender Expert Technical Advisor is expected to support CRD with technical reflection, knowledge, and evidence-based input into:

• The project inception report;
• Data collection tools development;
• Training for the Workshop facilitators and data collectors;
• Data analysis/validation and findings formulation;
• Report writing (with a focus on policy-level recommendations).

Qualifications

• Masters’ Degree (or equivalent degree/experience) in Gender, Development Studies, Education, or a related field is mandatory;
• Minimum 10 years of experience in research project and consultancies and in project with a strong gender component;
• Previous experience working as a technical advisor for multilateral organizations (UN, international financial institutions…), donors and/or INGOs is required;   
• Expert knowledge of Lebanon and its social, political, and economic contexts is mandatory. Previous experience working in Lebanon is a must;
• Demonstrated excellent analytical, writing and editing skills.
