Terre des hommes- Lausanne is seeking two qualified Outreach Workers (One based in Beirut or BML Areas and One based in the South (Saida, Nabatiyeh or Tyre), for its project “Promoting child-based multi-sectoral services for Street-connected children and their caregivers integrating food security with child protection and GBV services”.

Candidates applying to this position will be under a Service Contract and must have a valid driving license.

The Outreach Worker shall have the knowledge, experience, and practical skills to carry out Psycho-Social and Awareness sessions with children, girls, and caregivers’ risk of vulnerability.

The intention of this position is to build the resilience of the most vulnerable children and caregivers through psychosocial support activities. The Outreach Worker, through sessions, leaves a considerable positive impact on children and caregivers and promotes their well-being by empowering them building their knowledge and skills around psychosocial activities and aware them by CP-GBV sessions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach and identify beneficiaries every quarter.
  • Support in delivering sessions for beneficiaries.
  • Ensure the commitment of the girls to the sessions drop-in center.
  • Ensure taking attendance of participants during the sessions.
  • Safely identify and refer children and caregivers with protection concerns to the team (including child protection, formal education, Wash, Health, etc.)
  • Strengthening and improving the resilience and well-being of children and caregivers at risk.
  • Ensure that children and caregivers participate in activities that are non-discriminatory as well as age and gender sensitive and appropriate.
  • Ensure that children and caregivers feel safe, comfortable, and respected all the time.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of children and caregivers during sessions.
  • Ensure that the safe Space is friendly for the girls.
  • Report on challenges, best practices and lessons learned for the project.
  • Attending the training request including (PSEA-Safeguarding-Referral…)

Organizational Policies

  • Respect the Tdh Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP) and its principles of child protection, ensuring it's the policy's implementation and prompt notification of the CSP Focal Point with any information regarding potential breachs of the policy;
  • Is aware of, abides by and promotes the practices and values set out in all other Tdh policies and procedures such as the Internal Regualtions, Standard Operating Procedures and other policies.
  • Undertake all other duties that may be requested by the line-manager and that are compatible with the job.
  • Participate actively in weekly and monthly coordination meeting with the line managers.
  • Ensure Do No Harm analysis are carried out and the principle of Do No Harm is observed and upheld in all the engagements.

Other:

  • Support the other teams and his/her line manager
  • Undertake all other duties that may be requested by the line-manager and that are compatible with the job.

Job Requirements:

Academic Background:  Bachelor Degree in relevant field (social work…).

Experience: 0-1 year of experience required.

Skills:

  • The Outreach Worker must have a good knowledge of and familiarity with the target areas, including local community and population habits and behaviors, public and private stakeholders, focal points or local leaders within the community, and concentration of vulnerable populations in specific areas.
  • Specifically, it’s preferable for the Outreach Worker to live close to the center where the classes/sessions are being implemented.
  • Communication skills: The Outreach Worker should be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly articulate information, be a good listener and be able to establish positive relationships and build trust with people at all levels.

Location/Travel:  BML, & South Areas.
