Location: Southern Beirut (Hay El Gharbeh)
Work type: Fixed-term full-time (8:00 AM- 3:30 PM).
Job Responsibilities:
Tahaddi is recruiting an educator with remote teaching experience to manage and teach two groups of 15 children. Teaching will focus on Math and Arabic.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 3.30pm. Educators will conduct their teaching both on and off-site. Each week they will divide their time between working remotely and onsite.
Position Requirements:
- Responsible for remote teaching of 2 groups of 15 children using exciting methods and instructional materials to meet children’s varying needs and interests.
- Be present at the Tahaddi Education Center one to three days a week to teach remotely or meet with students and coordinators, as needed.
- Prepare monthly and weekly plans using a variety of materials and resources readily available within the children’s homes to use in learning activities.
- Keep track of children's attendance, performance and respect of the rules.
- Demonstrate patience and kindness, yet, maintain respectful relationships between students and the educator while online.
- Work effectively with team members.
- Demonstrate self-motivation, enthusiasm and creativity.
- Take part in professional development opportunities.
Job Requirements:
- BA Degree in Education with an emphasis on Arabic or Math or a related BA; Teaching Diploma is a plus. Three to five years’ experience is required.
- Skills in remote teaching applications and in creating tutorials.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, team spirit, sense of initiative, desire to learn, and flexibility.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
- Computer literacy with the ability to film tutorials and manage the use of WhatsApp or Team.
- Nonjudgmental attitude, maturity and patience in dealing with children and community members of different backgrounds.
- Adherence to Tahaddi’s core values of justice for all, integrity and serving deprived children with compassion and respect.
- Willingness to work in a very poor neighborhood with basic facilities and complex social dynamics.
