Tahaddi Lebanon is looking to recruit an experienced development professional to manage the “Integrated Development initiative to Empower the community of Hay El Gharbeh” project. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of all project outputs related to the psychosocial component of the project and will lead on the identification of individuals and families without legal identity documents who could benefit from project support services to obtain identity documents. The Project Coordinator will also lead on project planning, monitoring and delivery of activities, as well as contributing to donor reporting.

The Project Coordinator will work under the overall guidance of the Program Lead on Health and Psychosocial Services, and the day-to-day supervision of the Psychosocial Director. S/he will adhere to Tahaddi’s core values of integrity, compassion and justice.

 

Detailed job description:

Legal Counseling:

  • Identify individual cases of individuals and families without legal identity papers who are eligible for legal counseling and advisory support through the project to obtain identity papers;
  • Conduct initial (rapid) assessments of family applications for identity documents, prioritizing them according to established criteria;
  • Maintain regular contact with partner agencies, referring identified cases to external partners who will provide specialized legal support as necessary;
  • Manage cases with respect for confidentiality, and in accordance with Tahaddi guidelines;
  • Coordinate and provide social consultations with individuals and families applying for legal identity papers that are safe, timely, effective, efficient, and equitable;
  • Establish criteria for case selection, prioritize cases and make decisions in close coordination with the PSS Director on case closures as necessary;
  • Record case information, accurately completing all necessary forms and producing statistical reports;
  • Regularly monitor case progress and support families, providing guidance and advice as required; report challenges to supervisor for guidance
  • Ensure that data collection and storage respect data protection protocols and confidentiality principle.
  • Prepare and conduct community legal awareness sessions twice a month.
  • Act as the focal point of legal issues related to identity papers (i.e. birth registrations, marriages registration procedures etc.). 

Project coordination

  • Oversee and manage the project on a day-to-day basis;
  • Lead the monitoring of project implementation and achievement of project targets, following an over-all monitoring and evaluation system for the project;
  • Contribute to donor reports and ensure timely reporting;
  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with external partners;
  • Coordinate project monitoring meetings and ensure timely implementation and accountability for project results;
  • Ensure project abides by project budget, timelines and strategy;
  • Develop and lead participatory M&E mechanisms including regularly convening a M&E committee including staff and community members that will meet on a quarterly basis to monitor progress;
  • Brief the Leadership Team on project progress and provide information, reports and advice as required;
  • Monitor and manage any strategic risks/issues facing the project, submitting new risks/issues to the Leadership Team for consideration and decision on possible actions if required;
  • Represent the project as needed.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Essential: An undergraduate degree from a reputable university preferably in sociology, law, social work or other related disciplines. Master’s degree is preferred.

 

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience working in development. Experience working with other NGOs is preferred;
  • Strong technical knowledge of project management, monitoring and evaluation;
  • Strong leadership and management skills;
  • Strong ability to work as part of a team;
  • Legal expertise would be an advantage;
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to use information technology for project management;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English. French is a plus.
