MAAN aims to bridge inequalities within Lebanon through the promotion of a culture of citizen accountability, the production of qualitative and quantitative evidence-based research, and advocacy for stronger institutions of social protection. With this, MAAN aims to reform socio-economic policy through a rights-based approach and acting as a catalyst between grassroots groups and policy makers.

MAAN is looking for Communication and advocacy intern to support in the implementation of the communication strategies of MAAN and the existing projects. 

Communication Intern

I. Social Media Management

In collaboration with the communication consultant, manages MAAN social media channels, and supports communications in Arabic & English.

Assists the communication consultant in planning and designing a social media strategy and social media calendar.

Support the communication consultant in their effort through monitoring and compiling social media analytics. 

Takes part in weekly planning meetings with Communication consultant and the responsible personal of the relevant projects.

II. Content Creation

Assists the Communication consultant in the creation of social media posts.

Assists the Communication consultant in the design and implements the communication and social media strategies.

III. Branding

Assists the Communication consultant in creating organizational products such as: brochures, flyers, reports, factsheets & visibility products.

IV. Additional tasks may include:

Assists the Communication consultant in the management of MAAN’s website.

Qualifications and Skills

Undergraduate qualification in communication, media studies, online marketing, social media management and related areas.

Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Arabic;

Demonstrated ability in computer skills for word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and presentations (Microsoft Office 365) and creative software (Adobe Suite, Canva) is an added value;

Excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and the ability to propose creative and innovative ideas;

Clear understanding and adherence to MAAN’s values and missions;

Proven competence to assess priorities and manage a variety of activities in a time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality;

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as an effective team member in a complex and fast-paced environment;

Ability to balance multiple responsibilities professionally, quickly, and calmly;

Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff.

Professional work experience in communication-related work is an asset.
