Description: 

Within the framework of Nadoum Program, SIDC is currently seeking a consultant to elaborate on and promote a portfolio of fully-costed projects tailored to attract donors with a variety of interests.

Below are the details of the consultancy:

  1. Identify and define the organization's strategic fields of action:
  • Revise the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Determine the organization's fields of action in relation to its strategic objectives.
  • Explore any other relevant aspects related to the organization's strategic objectives.

 

  1. Review current projects / programs / interventions:
  • Review of projects/programs/interventions (project documents, provisional budgets, activity reports).
  • Develop a database and analysis of projects/programs/interventions.
  • Determine the strategic field of action of each current project/program/intervention.

 

  1. Evaluate projects/programs/interventions and prioritize them:
  • Determine if the project aligns with the organization's mission and strategy.
  • Assess the expected effects and impacts for the organization and beneficiaries.
  • Analyze the project's cost and resource requirements, including anticipated constraints, difficulties, or risks.
  • Confirm if the project has approval from the organization's members and support from partners.

 

  1. Build and enhance the project portfolio:
  • Classify projects / programs / interventions according to their strategic objectives.
  • Summarize each current project/program/intervention (period, financial partners and overall budget, context & justification for intervention, main objective, and main activities).
  • Identify the organization's main successes in each field of action (priorities to be reinforced: "what do we want to consolidate?").
  • Identify the next developments envisaged (innovations to be introduced: "what do we imagine in the next few years?").

 

  1. Produce a presentation of the project portfolio:
  • Design a presentation of current projects in line with the organization's objectives and strategic fields of action.
  • Include actions to be consolidated and innovations to be supported in line with strategic objectives and donor interests in the portfolio.
  • Consider new partnerships that could strengthen the portfolio.
  • Explore funding opportunities to support portfolio expansion or sustainability.

Overall, the consultant will play a critical role in shaping and managing SIDC's project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, maximizing impact, and contributing to the identification of new donors. The consultant will also be responsible of designing of the portfolio.

Educational Background: ● A relevant bachelor's degree, such as in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Human Resources, or Organizational Development, or any relevant field is required. ● Advanced degrees in Business or Public Administration, Organizational Development, or any relevant field is advantageous Experience: The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in resource mobilization and fundraising, particularly in the non-profit sector. This experience should include: ● Strategic Planning Experience: Prior experience in strategic planning, either within consulting firms, government agencies, or corporate settings, is essential. This could involve developing strategic plans, conducting SWOT analyses, and facilitating strategic planning workshops. ● Familiarity with various funding sources, including grants, individual donors, corporate partnerships, and government funding ● Project Management Experience: Experience in project management, including project planning, budgeting, and implementation, is crucial for evaluating and prioritizing projects within the organization's portfolio. ● Program Evaluation Expertise: Experience in program evaluation methodologies and tools is valuable for assessing the expected effects and impacts of projects, as well as monitoring their performance over time. ● Consulting Experience: Previous consulting experience, particularly in a role that involves providing strategic advice and recommendations, is advantageous for this consultancy role. ● Strong Analytical and Communication Skills: Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data and make evidence-based recommendations, are essential. Additionally, effective communication skills are crucial for presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels within the organization. ● Advanced-level proficiency in both English and French for effective written and oral communication. ● Previous experience working in the non-Governmental or not-for-profit sector is essential. Familiarity with the dynamics and challenges of these sectors will be advantageous. ● Experience in addressing gender-related issues within program design and implementation is highly desirable.
