SAWA Group is looking for a highly qualified psychologist who is experienced in the field of Mental Health Psychological support. The primary purpose of this consultation is to provide psychological support to SAWA staff. in addition to providing psychosocial support to selected children and their caregivers. A psychosocial consultant is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, therapy, counseling, and support services for the children and caregivers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES, MAIN DUTIES AND REPORTING:

  • Clinical Assessment:
  • Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments of the staff to evaluate their mental health status.
  • Analyzing and interpreting assessment results to formulate accurate diagnoses.
  • Consultation:
  • providing consultation to the staff
  • Offering expertise and guidance on treatment planning and intervention strategies.
  • Conduct one- to-one consultation sessions with the staff.
  • Training and Education:
  • Conducting training sessions for the staff on relevant mental health topics.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest research and developments in the field and disseminating this knowledge.
  • Ethical Standards:
  • Adhering to ethical guidelines and standards in the provision of mental health services.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and privacy in all interactions.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Generating reports as needed
  • Psychosocial Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct psychosocial assessments then diagnosis for children & caregivers to identify emotional, social, and mental health needs.
  • Intervention Planning: Develop individualized psychosocial intervention plans for children and caregivers based on assessment findings.
  • Therapeutic Services: Provide direct therapeutic services to children and/or caregivers, including counseling and support sessions.
  • Psychoeducation: Conduct psychoeducational sessions for caregivers on topics related to child development, mental health, and effective parenting strategies.
  • Capacity Building: Train caregivers on building resilient and supportive environments for children.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records and information collected.
  • Reporting: Report all cases to the PM.

 

REPORTS TO: 

Program Manager

EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND:

  • 3+ years’ experience with providing diagnostic assessment and therapy services to a full range of individuals from youth through adulthood
  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Psychosocial support, Psychiatry or other related field.
  • Proven experience working in challenging situation;
  • Experience in working for an NGO/ humanitarian organization preferable

  • Good capacity to interact with members of the team and different communities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
  • Must be able to work flexible work schedule
  • Ability to guide, direct, or influence people
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the client.
  • Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Knowledge of psychological test administration, scoring, and interpretation.
