Duration:
The sessions will be conducted over a period of 3 months; starting from July 2023 until the 31st of October 2023.
Requirements:
The therapist will provide 8 group sessions. The sessions will focus on addressing the emotional and psychological challenges that these women are facing on a micro level (personal challenges, family related challenges) and on a macro level (challenges related to their own circles and to their local communities as a whole).
Background:
The ongoing Syrian conflict has resulted in a large number of refugees and displaced people, many of whom are women. These women often face a range of physical, emotional, and psychological challenges within their families and communities, including trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and isolation. To address these challenges, a therapist is required to provide group and individual sessions for 20 Syrian women.
Objective of the Role:
The Psychologist is responsible for evaluating and treating individuals for mental, emotional, behavioral, educational, and developmental distress. S/he must have excellent interpersonal skills and should be very trustworthy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement therapy sessions that address the specific needs and challenges faced by Syrian women.
- Develop a safe and supportive environment that encourages open communication and participation from all participants.
- Ensure the confidentiality of all participants and adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice.
- Provide progress reports and updates to the project manager.
- Provide 8 group therapy sessions for 20 Syrian women. These sessions will focus on the macro level.
- 2 to 3 individual sessions for the 20 Syrian Women. Each session will extend up to 65 minutes each.
Deliverables:
- Detailed session plans for the 8 group therapy sessions.
- Progress reports after every 2 group sessions.
- Report on each individual case by case
- Final report outlining the effectiveness of the therapy sessions and recommendations for future interventions.
Competencies and Skills:
- Licensed psychologist.
- 3-5 years of related experience in psychology.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Should have a strong understanding of trauma-informed care and should be able to design and implement culturally sensitive therapy sessions.
- Strong working knowledge of diagnostic techniques and a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong familiarity with assessment techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to operate within ethical and professional standards of care.
Selection Criteria:
The therapist will be selected based on experience, qualifications, and suitability for the project. He/she should demonstrate an understanding of the challenges faced by Syrian women and should have experience designing and implementing therapy sessions. The therapist should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and should be able to work collaboratively with the project teams.
